It has been a wonderful few days rewinding colonies into woodlands. This could never have happened without the support of the conservationists, scientists, survey experts and the national trust who all came on board. Their future is in nature's hands now (and that of volunteers who will supplement their food for a while).

This is the beginning, we are raising the next release already.

Special shout outs to... Dr Wendy, Charlotte and Vianney from Swansea University. Tom, Emily and Alex from the National Trust England and all of our supporters, donators and volunteers.

Day 1 of releasing our Formica rufa colonies. It was a long day but worth every step. We chose, we placed and we watched them like seeing our kids take their first steps, we wished them luck and moved on. 20 colonies are our there in the world already. The rest are releasing tomorrow.

Introducing Myrmecocystus wheelri. This species of honey pot ant has take to be up with one of the most beautiful species of Myrmecocystus there is.

We have been listening to all of the feedback from you guys and made design changes that reflect this. These are now easier to assemble as well as being extra snug, to prevent even the smallest species from escaping.

Introducing Polyrhachis Cf cyaniventris/ baca. But to make it easier, we all them Poly blues. These ants have become extremely popular over the last few years though have never hit the uk market. After weeks of hard work we are extremely excited to offer some colonies for anyone wanting a show stopping species.

We are incredibly proud to announce that for the second year in a row, Ant Antics has been awarded Conservation Specialist of the Year. 🏆🐜

This award means a lot to us, as it recognises the work we’re doing through our Formica rufa restoration project and the wider efforts of the Ant Antics Foundation. Conserving native species and restoring natural habitats is at the heart of what we do, and it’s amazing to see this mission recognised again.

A special thank you to our staff, who volunteer their time freely for the benefit of the Foundation. Their passion and dedication make everything possible. And of course, ANTCON continues to be a major source of funding for our conservation and education initiatives, powered by our amazing community.

It’s truly encouraging to receive this award once more and to know that our work is making a difference. Thank you all for your continued support - onwards and upwards for conservation. 🌿❤️
