I’ve gone back and forth on whether to share this, but so many of you have followed Teddy’s journey since I started my companies.
Since the day she trotted into my life in September 2011, a six-month-old little white pup with long ears and the biggest heart I’d ever known, Teddy became my shadow. My joy. My constant. She made our home brighter and our days fuller, and she wrapped Joe and Rolf (and the rest of us) around her tiny paw within minutes.
She was also the reason Miss Teddy was born, and later, Young Woofians. Everything I created came from wanting the very best for her. Teddy connected me to all of you, and for that, I will be forever grateful.
On Friday 31 January, at 14½ years old, my sweet girl peacefully crossed the rainbow bridge. Her little heart was tired, and the kindest thing we could do was let her rest. Our wonderful vet, Angela, came to our home so Teddy could be surrounded by love in the place she felt safest.
We held her, stroked her little face, and I sang to her as she took her final journey, calm, gentle and wrapped in love. I know she felt it.
The truth is, it’s those of us left behind who feel the ache. We miss her every second. She was our reason to get up in the morning, our soulmate, our joy, our Tedster.
But I also know she’s at peace, playing with her siblings, loved, safe, and held until it’s my turn to take over again.
Teddy will always be part of everything I create. Her spirit, her love and her legacy live on through Miss Teddy and Young Woofians. Her little paws are imprinted on my heart forever.
Sleep peacefully now, my Teddy.
Thank you all for loving her.
