Unfortunately we're getting pets in that have sadly passed away due to the heat.
Please help keep pets safe in the hot weather.
🐾 Never leave pets in parked cars — even for a few minutes. Temperatures rise dangerously fast.
🐾 Walk dogs early morning or late evening when pavements are cooler. If the ground is too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for paws 🐾
🐾 Make sure pets always have access to fresh, cool water and shaded areas.
🐾 Avoid excessive exercise during the hottest part of the day.
🐾 Watch for signs of heatstroke:
Heavy panting
Drooling
Weakness or collapse
Vomiting
Confusion
🐾 Keep small animals and birds out of direct sunlight and ensure good airflow.
🐾 Older pets, flat-faced breeds, overweight pets, and very young animals are especially vulnerable.
If you suspect heatstroke, move the pet somewhere cool, offer water, use cool (not ice-cold) water on their body, and contact a vet immediately.
Please check on neighbours’ pets and spread awareness during the heatwave. A little care can save lives. ❤️
