Update - Pheobe has been reunited with her owner 😊🚨LOST CAT 🚨

Pheobe was last seen on the 6/8/2025 in the evening. Her owner has reported her missing on 7/8/2025.

Phoebe is grey, white and fluffy with blue eyes, neutered and 10 and a half years old.

She is a timid girl, so would encourage people in the area to check if she may be hiding in any garden sheds, outbuildings or garages in the area.

If you recognise her or have any information, please contact the practice on 02920 513838. 📞

Your help will be greatly appreciated in reuniting Pheobe with her owner

Signs and symptoms of arthritis in dog

Arthritis is a progressive joint disease and symptoms develop and worsen over time. You may notice your dog slowing down and taking it easier when out and about on walks. They may also become reluctant to play or go up and down stairs, and they might struggle to get up after long periods of rest.

The condition becomes worse in cold weather, so if they appear stiff or slow or yelp out in pain during the winter months, this could be a sign of arthritis.

Other symptoms of arthritis in dogs include:

Limping or lameness
A stiff walk that is worse when first waking up
Groaning or caution when lying down or getting up
Being wary of joints being touched
Tiredness
Irritability
Licking or chewing at joints

🐾 Meet Nova Sweetheart of the day 🥰
Nova came in yesterday for her second vaccination 💉😍 One of our lovely nurses made the vaccine quick and gentle, and the nursing team couldn’t resist stealing some of those puppy snuggles.

✅ Vaccine done ✅ Snuggles shared 😍 Puppy joy all around!

Why these visits matter:
Even before pups have full immunity, gentle handling and positive cues help build trust and reduce stress—true socialisation starts with safe, happy clinic visits 🐶💖

🔥HEATWAVE ADVICE☀️

WET THEN VET.

With the weather heating up again, the risk of dangerous heatstroke increases.

❗️Signs of heatstroke:
heavy panting, drooling, restlessness, bright red or very pale gums, lack of coordination and seizures

❗️What to do:
-Get them wet! Hose pipe, bottles of water, pool or lake (as long as they are not unconscious), get them soaked to the skin!
-Use fans or air conditioning once they are soaked to help bring the temperature down.
-Get them to the vets!

❗️What not to do:
-Worry about the coldness of the water: cool, cold, tepid; just get them wet.
-Put wet towels over them- can trap a layer of warm air and stops evaporation and cooling
-put lemon juice in their mouths (yes this is really making the rounds of bad advice this year!)
