🔥HEATWAVE ADVICE☀️
WET THEN VET.
With the weather heating up again, the risk of dangerous heatstroke increases.
❗️Signs of heatstroke:
heavy panting, drooling, restlessness, bright red or very pale gums, lack of coordination and seizures
❗️What to do:
-Get them wet! Hose pipe, bottles of water, pool or lake (as long as they are not unconscious), get them soaked to the skin!
-Use fans or air conditioning once they are soaked to help bring the temperature down.
-Get them to the vets!
❗️What not to do:
-Worry about the coldness of the water: cool, cold, tepid; just get them wet.
-Put wet towels over them- can trap a layer of warm air and stops evaporation and cooling
-put lemon juice in their mouths (yes this is really making the rounds of bad advice this year!)
