I think calm moments on walks are so important. Dogs don’t need to be constantly stimulated or rushed from one thing to the next…sometimes they just need time to slow down, sniff and watch the world for a minute.

Dogs don’t need constant stimulation or to be rushed from one thing to the next…balance is the key and reading what their body language is telling you is a must. Sometimes they need time to slow down, sniff, watch the world for a minute and know that they are safe.

A few quick restocks before another week of walks. Usually I bulk order most things online, but every so often I end up doing little top up trips in between walks. The dogs definitely won’t complain about the sprats either 😅

Wipes, treats, tennis balls…nothing exciting. The small things make the days run smoothly though and keeps the dogs happy, clean and cared for properly.

always ends up being my “just one thing” stop that somehow turns into a basket full 🫠

The way I care for dogs has always been centred around keeping things calm, consistent and realistic…for both the dogs and their owners.

I don’t rush through my day trying to squeeze in as many bookings as possible because I know owners want their dogs cared for properly…not treated like another time slot.

I don’t ignore nervous or anxious behaviour and just “hope for the best”. A lot of dogs need time, patience and someone who actually pays attention to what they’re communicating.

I don’t pretend every dog has a perfect day every day either. Dogs have off days, nervous moments, excitement, overstimulation…I think owners deserve honesty, not a polished version of reality.

I also don’t take on a new client and immediately throw their dog into any environment without thought. Every dog is different and finding the right routine and walk matters.

And probably most importantly…I don’t promise things I can’t realistically maintain long term. Consistency matters. Reliability matters. Having the peace of mind that your dog is cared for just as you would matters.

Handing somebody your keys and trusting them with your dog is a big thing…something I never take lightly and I have been blessed that so many homes have welcomed me 🤍

But honestly…this is my favourite part of the day. Out in the forest, nothing but the sounds of nature, dogs by my side 🤎

Keeping dogs comfortable in their own environment can make such a difference…especially for dogs that thrive on routine, familiarity and quiet company.

Plenty of cuddles and making sure she felt completely settled while her owners were away 🏡
