*What’s In My Cleaning Bag?*

Weighs less than 1kg! I cycle to most of my customers which is why I travel light. Bag bought on eBay - folds flat for storage.

Here’s the list:

Clogs, latex gloves, dust mask & spare filters, safety specs, Cif, wash up liquid, limescale remover, talc (for getting gloves on), Brillo pads, lint brush, folding mini duster, dentist scrapers (for limescale), toothbrush, mini tools, hand san & cream, headache pills, tissues, coffee powder, keys on an AirTag.

I buy most of my supplies on eBay, at B&M and Screwfix. Customers provide the products and equipment.

Who likes oven cleaning? Not many people. Did this clean for a lovely client this weekend. Took about 1.5 hours of scrubbing with Fairy, Bicarbonate of Soda and a spray of Oven Cleaner. If you are going to clean your own oven then follow the instructions

- use long gloves
- wear a mask and windows open
- turn off the oven
- eye wear is important!
- have a bucket of hot water for rinsing
- newspaper or old towels on the floor for catching drips
- keep children and or pets out
- wipe the oven thoroughly after cleaning

Or you could just book a cleaner to take care of it!

Scrubbing kitchen tile grout with a paste of Cif and bicarbonate of soda to get rid of kitchen grease. Lovely client was happy with the result!

What do I like about my job:
- Finding new clients
- Being in charge of my own schedule
- Going above and beyond for customers

What am I not so keen on:
- Solo working is lonely
- There's no one to bounce ideas off
- (Or to have a bit of a whinge!)

So I created a social group for cleaners in the area - doesn't matter if you are agency or self-employed, domestic or commerical, we are all in this together!
