Rosie Jones Horses

Rosie Jones Horses Rosie will be starting a new full time position at Cambridge University on the 1st October. She will

Rosie has been working with problem horses since she was a young teenager, and became the youngest ever Recommended Trainer of Intelligent Horsemanship 5 years ago at the age of 21. Rosie has been riding internationally in demonstrations for Kelly Marks for 4 years, and was Monty Roberts UK tour rider from 2009-2011, (the first ever female to get the job!). She is an open minded horsewoman, steali

ng tricks and techniques from any successful method to add to her own, and has learned from various sources: She got her stickability from riding for dealers and buying ponies from sales, learned about herd instincts first hand with wild mustangs in Colorado. From Chris Bartle, to Pat Burgess, to Heather Moffett, not to mention the fantastic education with Kelly and Monty, Rosie has been lucky enough to learn from some of the best. She has a passion for producing light and willing ridden horses that can go on to further success in competition or simply become a safe, pleasurable and cooperative ride, and firmly believes there is a place for horse behaviourism in competition horse production as well as for grass roots riders.

Please consider sharing this post and/or supporting this charity. Their care for young people and for their horses is phenomenal. They desperately need new facilities to be able to continue the lifechanging services that they offer. If anyone has heard me talk about equine assisted therapy recently and thought it sounds worthwhile - now is the time to support one of the very best equine assisted learning and therapy centres in the UK, which gives many young people a lifeline and a place to breath.

We are raising funds to build a purpose built equine therapy centre in London so we don't have to close our doors to young people in need

My good friend Daisy has this fab opportunity available...

*Exciting Announcement* This is it! I am very excited to announce that I am launching my Rider Confidence Course. A 10 week, online, interactive programme for those struggling with nerves/anxiety when riding. Open to all levels of rider. My first course will run from Monday 27th January and I am looking for 10 riders to be my “flagship group”.
Introductory opportunity at a reduced rate of just £25 for the full course.
Lesson time will be a Facebook Live at 8.30pm, every Monday evening - if you miss one you can watch back but obviously better if you can be involved ‘live’. Then a WhatsApp group for support through the week.
First 10 people to say “Yes me! Definitely I am in.” Get the places. Message me for more information or with any questions.
Other groups will run throughout the year, as well as, one to one options and potentially a two day residential course if of interest.

“Starting the Horse Course” 26/27th August (Monday/Tuesday) at Hartsop Farm in Witney. With Monty Roberts demo rider Jake Harris, renowned and supremely experienced trainer of young horses Ian Vandenberghe, and me. This course is for anybody who wants to know what goes into a young horse’s education – not just how to get them to accept a rider sitting up there (some say that is the easy bit!) but also how to get them to respond well to the aids, ride out away from home, accept the bit, stand at the mounting block and more. On this course we will show you how to work with some of the equipment that we find useful – the different rollers/saddles/bits/ etc as well as fake legs, dummy riders and so on. This is a hands on, practical course, with the chance to work with horses at the super Hartsop facilities. We will talk about riding techniques for young horses, including practicing a defensive position on our very own ‘bucking’ drum. Though you do not need to come on this course as a rider – you can be hands on as the groundperson, learning the best way to support the rider/s (we will assess suitability for riding if you want to do that when you get in touch to book, but Jake and I are on hand for riding – there is lots to be learned from the ground). £250 per person, booked through Ian at [email protected].

Are you wanting to improve your horses behaviour at shows, clinics etc? Or just to find out how your new, or young horse is likely to behave away from home? I am running a new clinic on Milton Keynes on 11th August that aims to support horse behaviour in a new environment. You will work in groups of three, for a nice long, slow moving 90 minute session, morning in the arena, afternoon on the XC course (you can do either or both). In hand/partially in hand/ ridden, flat/poles/jumping all an option. Happy to ride for you too if that helps. The aim of this unique clinic is to have the horses settled, well mannered, listening, and working independently from the others before they go home - this is ALL about the behaviour and partnership with no other expectations of competing so no pressure to do anything other than what is right for you and your horse. I will help with loading at this end too so you don't need to worry about loading on your own (though if you are expecting particularly tricky loading issues get in touch first so I can plan timings etc). I have spaces left in both the morning and afternoon slot, email with any questions! OR go to the link below to book.
