As well as doing pet pop ins for holiday cover, I also get to see these gorgeous faces on a more regular basis. 💜

Mavis is 6 years old and is a recently rescued/rehomed ex racing Greyhound. She has settled into her new home and is taking to retirement very well. She is adored by her dad and likes to be near him at all times! 💜 Mavis has a slight concern over laminate flooring but seems to be getting used to it!! 🤣 There is nothing she likes better than to do a little treat hunt around the garden, a few zoomies and then snuggle up on the sofa for cuddles and ear rubs! 💜

Margaret is an 8 year old Yorkshire Terrier who is full of energy! She has 3 favourite toys, 1 of which is her much loved mini tennis ball! 🎾 She is a typical terrier and we spend most of our visits outside in her garden playing chase and fetch.💜 Margaret also enjoys a good belly rub and some little treats. 💜

Milly is a 9 year old Whippet X who is very placid and gentle. 💜 She loves treats and lots of cuddles. Milly likes to have a good sleep on the stairs and this is where she waits for my arrival! 💜
She also enjoys defending her garden against rogue pigeons who dare to fly past! 🤣

King is a 7 year old rescued/rehomed ex racing Greyhound. We go on little afternoon lead walks to stretch his legs and to do his business! 🐾 He is the gentlest big boy and enjoys lots of fuss and attention. He has the cutest, bounciest walk! King has a strong prey drive so I have to stay alert when we are out, just in case he spots any cats or squirrels! He would love to give chase if he was allowed! 💜

Rufus is a 6 year old Romanian Mioritic Shepherd X. He is another gentle giant and a big fan of sofa cuddles!! 💜. He enjoys a good bum scratch and some yummy treats. He does venture in to the garden for a sniff and a stretch but has a big fear of flies so heads straight back to bed/sofa if he spots one nearby!! 🤣🪰

Twiglet is a 10 month old Miniature Dachshund. 💜 I have been visiting her since she was 12 weeks old and have watched her grow and turn into an affectionate, lively little sassy pants! 🤣 We love a good cuddle, treat training sessions and playing with her many toys (some of which are bigger than her!! 💜) She has a bit of a foot fe**sh so I have to hide my toes and distract her with food! 🤣

I thoroughly enjoy visiting these boys and girls!! 💙🩷 Getting to spend time with them regularly means that I get to bond with them, enjoy a huge amount of cuddles and generally have a lot of fun!! 💜🐾

I have recently been busy meeting some new fluffy felines and dealing with some matted coats! 🐈‍⬛

Meet Poppy, a very friendly and pretty 12 year old Maine C**n X. Poppy had lots of tiny little mats which were a bit too tight to comb out. I was able to shave them out easily. She also had a hygiene shave. She was a very purry girl! 💜

Norman, a 9 year old Selkirk Rex who had multiple large mats over his body. He was a huge fan of the licki mat and had lots of breaks as he wasn’t keen on being still for too long! He also had a hygiene shave and a good brush! 💜

Daisy, a beautiful 14yr old DLH (domestic long haired) who was extremely friendly and loved attention. Unfortunately, Daisy has a tumour in her mouth and although she can still eat and is happy in herself, she struggles to groom her coat properly which had led to some thick mats developing on her flanks. I managed to gently clip them off and brush her remaining fur! She also had a nail trim and some licky treats! 💜

Sprout, a 4yr old newly rescued/rehomed DSH (domestic short haired). He had not been looking after his coat properly and some tight mats had formed on his back. He was a very friendly and inquisitive boy, fidgety but hugely food orientated so lots of treats were involved! I managed to shave the thick mats and then brushed the rest of his fur. I also microchipped him and gave his new human some advice on diet, neutering and preventative health care. 💜

Rocco, the handsome 3 year old Maine C**n. A nervous but friendly boy who was very chatty and vocal about having his fur messed about with! His human gave him some good cuddles whilst I got to work with shaving the large mats on his back. He also had a hygiene shave and a nail clip. 💜

All of these fabulous fluffies are now a lot more comfortable and feeling fresh! Well done to their humans for keeping them busy so that I could get to work on their troublesome fur! 💜🐾🐱

Wow!! Pogs is a year old!! 🥳

I would like to say a huge thank you to all of you lovely people for following, liking, sharing and tagging my page! 💜
Also, the word of mouth recommendations have been amazing and I am truly grateful for your support. 🥰

I have met so many wonderful pets (and humans!) in the last 12 months and I am so pleased to have been able to provide the home service that I was aiming for! 💜

I am very much looking forward to seeing many more new faces, as well as my regular little fluffers as I head into year 2 of Pogs!! 🐶🐱🐹

This is Dolly the Persian and this is what happens when the drugs kick in!! 🤣💜

Dolly is not a fan of being groomed and requires some gentle sedation beforehand. Her mum and I have got in to a great routine with her and her ‘brother’ (who also needs sedation for grooming)

The veterinary prescribed medication is administered the evening before the grooming appointment and again in the morning, 2-3 hours before the event. It is given in the form of a tiny tablet or a liquid suspension. 💊

They are not completely ‘knocked out’ and can still walk around, eat etc, but are calm and relaxed enough for me to shave any heavy mats without causing stress or harm to the cat. 💜

Matted fur can be very sore for cats so if lightly sedating them makes for a more comfortable grooming session, then that’s what I would usually advise. 💜

Dolly responds well to the sedation, has a lovely brush, hygiene clip, mat removal and a nail clip, then happily snoozes for the rest of the day!! She usually has a couple of breaks for some treats or wanders off to her food bowl for a nibble! 🤣

Some recent faces (and feet!) 🐶🐾

Meet Beau the Staffie who had a dew claw that was growing at a peculiar angle! He had big cuddles with his human and was a star for his nail trim. He kept hold of his favourite ball at all times (except when treats were offered!)💜

Dexter the Doberman who has the shiniest coat!! 💜 This gentle giant allowed me to take the sharp ends off of his nails whilst his mum fed him some very yummy lamb! We then had a game of tug with his favourite blanket to celebrate! 💜

Lana the Pointer was a little on the wriggly side and had very tickly feet! She took a bit of convincing (even with treats), but then her dad got the cheese out and that did the trick!! 🧀💜

Biscuit and Chocolate the Dachshunds are housemates and welcomed me with a very tuneful duet!! 🎤🎶
I have clipped their nails before and knew that Biscuit sometimes liked to get his teeth involved so required a little muzzle to keep me and his big sister safe whilst we got to work on his tippy tappy claws!! 🐾 I also used some calming spray to help him feel safe.
Chocolate was a very good boy and had cuddles and treats once his manicure was complete! 💜

I had a wonderful surprise when I went to do some routine nail clips on 4 young adult cats last week! (5th one did a runner!) 🤣🐾

I have met these boys and girls before for nail clipping and pet pop ins but this time, there were 5 tiny, 1 week old extra babies for me to meet!! 💜

Here is Wednesday, the gorgeous Mummy who gave birth with no assistance and is fantastic with her newborn kittens 💜 and Sage, the handsome ginger and white boy, who is the proud Daddy!! 💜

I look forward to seeing them grow and will be ready to microchip them when they are bigger!!

Maccy, a beautiful Ragdoll boy who also had a little hygiene clip to keep his bottom nice and fresh! 💜
Bertie, a very loving little cat. He had some pretty long nails and kept getting stuck in the furniture. He was a very good chap and enjoyed some post clip treats! 💜
Reggie, the teeny tiny Chihuahua. He was an absolute trooper and sat like a pro for his first nail trim! 💜
Coco and Cookie, the happy little Guinea Pigs. These beauties are very well handled boys and were so good for their manicures! 💜
Toby, a friendly (but also a little feisty!) Yorkshire Terrier. He had been giving his mum a few scratches so the tips of his sharp nails had to go! Treat bribery worked wonders for this boy! 💜

My latest Pogs purchase was this new laser pen!! Rupert and Albert were the first to try it out! As you can see, it was a successful trial, they loved it and it kept them (and me) entertained!! 💜⭐️

RAGDOLLS!!

Willow is 3 years old and has the most fabulous fur but had developed some little mats in various places.
I was able to clip them out, give her a hygiene shave and also take some of the length off of the fur around her neck to make her a bit cooler! 💜
I gave the rest of her fantastic floof a good brush and also applied her flea treatment 💜.
She was such a little gem and purred the whole time! 💜🐾.

Another gorgeous fluffer, is Fudge who is a whopping 18 years old! 💜
He has recently had a visit to the vet who diagnosed a significant heart murmur 🩺.
He desperately needed clipping due to very heavy mats all over his body, particularly along the sides of his back.
We took it very slowly, used a calming spray and gave him plenty of breaks to avoid any stress 💜.
His mum held him on her lap, which happened to be next to a large fish tank!! Fudge was mesmerised by the fish swimming around and this kept him nice and relaxed! 🐠🐟
He is now quite bald in places but a lot more comfortable!!
Fudge also had his nails clipped 🐾
Well done Fudge, what a gent! 💜
