Job Opportunity: Professional Dog Walker (Maternity Cover) 🐶
Are you an experienced dog lover looking for a rewarding, active role? We are seeking a reliable and professional Dog Walker to join Wellies and Woofs Pet Services for a maternity cover position. ❤️
You will be responsible for providing high-quality exercise and care for our regular canine clients, ensuring every Woof Pack member has safe and fun-filled adventures. In return, you’ll get to make a positive difference to pet owners’ lives while enjoying fresh air in the countryside with the best of furry friends — and with the possibility of more once the cover ends! 🐾 ☀️ 🌳
📣 Duties include:
• Safe collection and drop-off of dogs from clients’ homes
• Providing stimulating one-hour group walks for up to six dogs at a time, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout
• Managing dog socialisation and promoting good behaviour
• Monitoring dogs for signs of ill health, injury, or distress during transport or walks
• Reporting incidents or health concerns
• Following dog-walking etiquette and local codes of conduct, upholding an eco-friendly approach
• Maintaining a clean and organised work environment, including handling waste disposal responsibly
• Providing professional client communication and walk updates
• Managing client keys securely (key holder responsibility)
• Working outdoors in all weather conditions and environments, following risk assessments
• Upholding health and safety standards at all times, including the safe handling of animals and equipment
• Representing the business professionally
📣 Requirements:
• A genuine love for animals, with a caring and compassionate attitude
• Proven experience in dog walking, animal care, or veterinary work (desirable)
• A full UK driving licence and access to a dog-friendly vehicle (a company van can be provided)
• A basic DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
• Valid public liability insurance for pet business use (can be provided)
• Physical fitness and a positive attitude towards walking in all weather conditions
• Canine first aid certification (or willingness to obtain one)
• Strong communication skills, reliability, and confidence
