We listen and we don’t judge…..🤣

Swipe to see what a mess of Pigeons trim I made! Hopefully the clippers will work now as her hair was too long. She should certainly be cooler now and feel the benefit of the cold paving, we just have to hide any mirrors until I’ve tidied it up 🤣

A round up of the rabbits we have available for adoption ❤️

Each one has been neutered and vaccinated.

First up we have:

Maggie & Elbarn. Male and female bonded pair. Elbarn is super friendly, Maggie needs time to get to know you. Would suit a family without young children as Maggie can still have territorial tendencies.

Albus & Luna: Male and female bonded pair. Friendly and enjoy strokes. Happy to bumble around investigating things.

Dobby: lone boy at the moment (he will have a wife if not adopted soon) very friendly and calm. Chilled out bun, loves a flop.

Popcorn: the fluffy sheep 🤣 such a character. Has increased grooming needs due to his coat. Loves to hang out with people as long as it’s respectful.

Just a reminder that we don’t rehome to hutch only set ups. We do do home checks and our fee is £120 per rabbit.

Can you be any of these buns forever person?

❤️

The sanctuary garden is slowly becoming a little bunny buffet 🌿🐇

We’d absolutely love to grow more of our own herbs and salad leaves for the rescue buns — things like parsley, basil, mint, coriander, romaine and safe forage favourites. Not only does it help keep enrichment fresh and varied, but the bunnies genuinely adore nibbling things grown with love.

Before we go out buying new, we wondered if anyone might have any spare garden pots, troughs, planters or containers sitting unused in sheds or gardens that they’d be happy to donate to the sanctuary? Even cracked or mismatched ones can often still be useful for planting.

We’d love to create a little growing space for the buns this summer 🌱

If you have anything you no longer need, please pop us a message. Thank you for always helping us make life a little greener (and tastier) for the rabbits 🤍

With temps soaring today, join the girls for a drink 🤣

We’ve been making sure everyone has stayed cool today and will continue over the weekend.
If you need tips on how to keep your bunnies cool in the heat then read our post on keeping cool this summer.

I videoed this a couple of days ago and since then there has been an update. Pudding will be staying it’s is for the foreseeable future but that is until we have had him neutered and he’s gone through recovery because he has a wife waiting for him!!

and I have discussed it and the opportunity for pudding to go and live with this new bunny friend is too good to miss so she’s agreed to let him go to a new home.

We’re so pleased for Pudding and excited to keep you all updated with his progress when he goes to his new home in a few weeks time ❤️

So we have had an interesting interaction this evening with a misinformed individual. I am a huge fan of healthy debates and will always have a willingness to listen to other people’s points of view because we can all learn something. But what I will not have on this page is a negative approach to what we do here. Are we bunny experts..? Absolutely not! We are educating ourselves all of the time. One thing we are passionate about in our own set up and for those who are like minded is that a hutch does not have a place in rabbit care. Unless used well it can lead to dire situations for rabbits to be kept in. They are not marketed with correct information and are mass produced for maximum profit. Big companions play on the fact that you can purchase a rabbit in a day with no prior planning, just on a whim, they are seen as a cheap disposable pet. This is not the same for dogs (on the whole, although we do know there are levels to that) So I will always advocate for these amazing creatures and strive to give them better than the bare minimum. I understand that not everyone will agree with me, and that’s ok. I am willing to be educated if the person in question can give me evidence based information and is willing to discuss. I will not put up with ignorant people who make assumptions and feel they know best. If you do not agree then please scroll past and find those who share your views.
We check what we do with recommendations from the RSPCA, RWAF and we have the wonderful support of Kate at Suffolk Animal Rescue who has personally visited our space several times and loves what we’re working to achieve.
Thank you to all the people who show up with a positive mentality ❤️❤️

The Rabbit Welfare Association and Fund recommends that rabbits should have 24/7 access to a predator proof space of no less than 60square feet to enable them to exercise and exhibit natural behaviours.

Remember rabbits are crepuscular and are most active at dawn and dusk, and sleep most of the day.

Rabbits who are confined to a hutch or shed overnight are more likely to become obese than rabbits who have access to enough space 24/7
