We are currently supporting the RSPCA at Appleby Horse Fair🐴🐴

This week, 35 of our staff and volunteers are attending Appleby Horse Fair, the biggest traditional gathering of Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities in the UK.

We're proud to work alongside our charity partners, including Blue Cross UK, Bransby Horses - Rescue and Welfare, British Horse Society, The Donkey Sanctuary, Mare and Foal Sanctuary, Redwings Horse Sanctuary and World Horse Welfare, as well as the police and local authority.

With hundreds of animals at the event, our experts are there to work with Fairgoers to best ensure their welfare, including removing debris from the water in advance of the Fair and each day, providing advice, and speaking to owners where necessary.

‼️UPDATE‼️ Wow that was quick! Thank you so much to our support Jade who has ordered the bit we need for Rambo 🥰

🐴WE NEED YOUR HELP!🐴

Rambo, one of ridden horses who is looking for a home, has a very sensitive mouth and we do not have the bit he needs!

Do any of our supporter have a 5.5inch rubber mullen mouth snaffle they would be wiling to donate? It must be in good condition with no chew marks tha could rub, and can either be posted to us or dropped off at the centre.

If anyone wishes to buy him the bit instead, we have added it to our Amazon wishlist ⬇

🌟To celebrate Volunteers Week, we want to show how our volunteers help the horses in our care 🌟

Natalie found the rehoming centre a bit too busy, as all her friends kept getting rehomed around her! Natalie moved to a quiet foster home with our brilliant volunteer fosterer Susan. Susan invited Natalie into her home and has a stable herd of five horses and ponies that have helped Natalie to relax.

Natalie is a friendly pony who enjoys interacting with people and finds comfort with her known handlers. She needs equine company at all times and now its her turn to find a loving home with a buddy, after watching all her friends find theirs.
