Not all walks are created equal! 🐶✨
While busy parks, ball chasing, and constant play might seem like great exercise, they can actually leave your dog overstimulated and wired rather than calm and content.
A rural walk, on the other hand — with time to sniff, explore, and move at their own pace — allows your dog to process the world around them. Sniffing is how dogs think, communicate, and unwind.
Next time, swap the tennis ball for a countryside stroll 🌾

🐾✨ Obedience vs. Compliance — What’s the Difference?
It’s easy to think that a “well-trained” dog is one who’s obedient — who follows every command instantly, no questions asked. But obedience often comes from control and repetition, not understanding.
Compliance, on the other hand, comes from choice and cooperation. It’s when your dog listens and responds because they trust you, not because they fear the consequence of getting it wrong.
At Attune Dog Training and Behaviours, we aim for compliance over obedience — a relationship where both dog and human communicate, understand, and work together.
When we meet our dogs’ needs, guide them calmly, and respect their emotions, we build a partnership built on trust, not tension.

Halloween can be fun for us—but stressful for our dogs. Constant door knocking, excited children, and costumes can trigger anxiety, barking, or even fear-based reactions.
To help you protect your dog’s wellbeing, I’ve put together simple protocols to keep your dog calm and safe during trick or treat season:
✅ Maintain a calm, predictable routine
✅ Provide a safe, quiet space away from the front door
✅ Use enrichment or calming activities to keep them relaxed
✅ Avoid repeated exposure to stress triggers (like doorbells)
✅ If your dog is anxious, it’s OK to opt out!

I have years of experience handling, owning and working with canine companions. I am an IMDT Accredited Trainer with the ambition to build on my knowledge and skills to maintain as high a standard as possible. I practice only force free science based techniques, enabling you to relax safe in the knowledge you will receive the most up to date training I can offer that will be tailored to suit both yours and your dogs needs.
I am fully insured and I promise you honesty and integrity. If I do not feel able to handle your case I will not waste you time or money but instead, refer you to someone more suitable if possible.

No 2 dogs are the same and I understand that what works for one may not work for another. With that in mind all services offered will be based on an assessment before any training is given.
I will help you understand the behaviours that drive your dog that will assist us in choosing the right techniques to become attune with their needs. This will then give you the tools required to be a true leader taking responsibility and maintaining control.
