MATTED DOGS
This is just to reiterate to our lovely clients that we will not under any circumstances put your dogs through pain or distress. Also, please understand that if your dog is matted and we have to shave it, the consequences are solely your responsibility as the owner, having neglected your dog’s coat care, not ours at having to deal with the neglect. I would like to emphasise that most of our clients are amazing, they love and care for their dogs and bring them to us regularly. BUT if you bring your dog for grooming once or twice a year without brushing in between, you are directly responsible for any consequences.
Lately we have had a couple of clients try to blame us for the consequences of having to shave their dog’s coat, but please understand we will ALWAYS put the welfare of your dog as the top priority.

NB. As mentioned in the comments below, please also note you are actually breaking the law under the Animal Welfare Act by allowing your dog to suffer with a matted coat.
