Cowboy taking good care of Big Red!!

Helen at Sussex Retirement Centre has selflessly given Big Red a place with the herd to recover from some awful neglect. He was rehomed to her from a home that had (hugely missold) bought him unseen & were shocked at what arrived. The lady instantly set about trying to find BR a suitable retirement home, as she wasn't equipped to give Red the care he desperately needed.

This pony is super!!!

Our first trip out together today. We're still very much getting used to each other, and the test was a little tense and clunky (on both of our parts). So very proud of her pulling a 63.9% out of the bag and sitting in 8th place.

The class was massive, high scoring and we were in good company. She tried her heart out, and I'm starting to figure out how to ride her.

Next time hopefully I'll skip the nerves.

and I had a lovely schooling session at yesterday evening!

Stupidly I'd arrived without a plan, but rustled something up and actually managed to get some lovely work out of us. I've been really struggling with my position on Zoe. I'm frankly ridiculously over horsed & her giant barrel pushes my little legs out of position as soon as she moves. I'm working hard on my strength and mobility, and feeling a little softer/articulate in the saddle.

I'm desperate for some lessons (last one was July), ready to crack on now!! 💪
