We’ve been sticking to shady walks, lots of paddles and plenty of water to keep everyone happy and cool. 💦🐾

This week has been so much fun! 🐾💚

It’s been lovely to have some milder weather and get all the dogs back out enjoying proper adventures, sniffing, exploring with friends and making the most of being outdoors.

Unfortunately, the heatwave looks like it’s returning next week, so I’ll definitely be making some changes to walks to keep everyone safe. This may mean earlier walks, shorter outings, or swapping walks for garden visits and enrichment where needed.

Trust me, I hate the heatwave just as much as the dogs do! 😂 It makes my week a lot more stressful (and a lot less exciting!), but their welfare will always come first. In this kind of weather, most dogs are much happier keeping cool, having a snooze, and waiting for the temperatures to drop than heading out for a long walk.

Thank you all for your understanding and support. Fingers crossed the cooler weather isn’t too far away! ☀️🐶🤞

I honestly don’t know how I managed to get this photo… I think the treats had something to do with it! It’s giving class of 2026😂🐶

Jun Bug. 🐛🤍🧡

This one doesn’t feel real.

You were such a huge character. All legs, so unbelievably fast, and always the first to make everyone laugh. You were the funniest one of the group, always up to mischief, but at the same time the gentlest giant anyone could wish to know.

You had no shortage of girlfriends either. You seemed to win every lady over with your charm, your personality and those handsome looks. Watching you race around the dog park with your mates, completely in your element, is something I’ll never forget.

I’ve got so many stories and memories of you, and I’ll treasure every one of them.

Shane and Ellen, thank you for trusting me with your beautiful boy. It has been such a privilege to be part of Juno’s life and to love him like family. My heart is broken for you both.

Juno, you were taken far too young. Me, Hamish, Mouse and the whole Salty Paws gang are going to miss you more than words can say. Thank you for every cuddle, every adventure and every laugh. You’ll always have a place in our hearts. Run free with your Jacki 🧡🤍🐾

☀️ With the warmer weather here, I just wanted to share a quick update about walks.

While many dogs appear to cope well with the heat, exercising during the hottest part of the day can increase the risk of overheating and heatstroke. As a dog walker, your dogs’ safety and welfare will always be my priority.

For that reason, all midday walks will need to be replaced with home visits, garden breaks, enrichment, and plenty of attention when temperatures are particularly high. I’ll still be offering early morning walks in shaded cool environments with access to streams and rivers.

A missed walk is far less of a concern than a dog becoming unwell due to the heat, and I’d much rather be cautious when it comes to their wellbeing.

The forecast looks much cooler next week, so all walks should resume as normal once temperatures return to a safer level.

Thank you for your understanding and support during the warmer days. 🐾❤️

In a world full of AI-generated pictures and content, here are a few photos of real dogs having a genuinely great time. 🐾

No perfect poses. No filters. No editing.

Just dogs being completely, unapologetically themselves.

Running with their mates, swimming in muddy water, sniffing absolutely everything, chasing each other around, and occasionally making questionable choices... (rolling in poo, anyone? 🤢😂)

I’m not their pawrent! I’m more like the fun auntie who lets them get a little muddy, a little wet, and occasionally a little naughty... before handing them back tired, happy, and ready for a nap. 😇😂

We spend our days exploring the countryside, and while the dogs are having the time of their lives, I’m usually coming home covered in scratches, stung by nettles, sporting a collection of mystery bruises on my thighs from enthusiastic doggy greetings, and carrying half a field home on my clothes. 🌿🐕

Sometimes chaotic, a bit muddy, slightly painful, definitely not perfect and completely real.

Exactly how dogs should be. ❤️

Can’t recommend Beth’s doggy care enough. These two idiots always have a whale of a time when she looks after them. We’ve already booked her for next year! Couldn’t be more reassured about their care when we are away!
