Good morning to all our clients.....what a lovely day! We hope you are all coping ok with the Lockdown and are able to ride in some shape or form within the restrictions. This morning, we sent an email out to all our registered clients with an update. If you are registered with us and do not receive this email, please let us know by emailing [email protected] with your name, address and horse'(s') name. We can then make sure you receive the email and are in our future mailing list. Aren't we lucky to live in beautiful, rural Somerest 🌞🌻

Good afternoon, we'd like to update you after last night's government announcement in case you need us. Our vets are still healthy and working whilst closely following the government guidelines. If you require a visit, please give us a ring at the office to discuss your horse's problem and our office staff will go through your available options. Most importantly, if your horse is struggling with pain or discomfort, we will still be able to visit whilst taking the necessary precautions which our staff will explain to you when you ring to book in the visit. If your horse is booked in for vaccinations, we will be in contact in due course. Of course, things are changing very quickly and we will endeavour to let you know if anything changes to affect our situation with regard to the veterinary care we can offer. Stay safe everyone. Best wishes from the Evolution Team.

Copy of email sent to clients this morning:

Good Morning,

We consider ourselves to be very lucky that we are in a rural area and that we don’t have large numbers of staff to worry about regarding spread of the Coronavirus. All our vets and those admin staff who can are now working from home. The vets will still be making their visits but will be adhering to the government guidelines re contact etc.

We have asked that clients don’t enter the Practice but ring ahead with orders so that we can organise leaving them for you to collect as we have been advised to behave as though we are carrying the virus and therefore need to reduce the chance of spread as much as possible. If you have a bill to pay, please ring the office to pay over the phone or to get our account details which will enable you to pay by BACs.

So far, no members of our staff have had to self-isolate so we are not short of staff. We are making big efforts to keep the vets apart from each other so that we don’t all have to self- isolate at once. We therefore have every confidence that our service will continue as usual. This includes routine work, investigative work, X-raying, surgery, and of course, emergency work. Obviously, if you feel unwell or are self-isolating when we need to visit your horse, please let us know in advance and, where possible, arrange for a friend to meet us. If this isn’t possible, leave instructions with the office regarding where the horse is and what the problem is so that we can still visit and examine the horse. The vet will then give you a phone call to discuss the case and treatment options.

We currently have Miles and Peter still in the office so meds orders, booking appointments etc should not be affected. But, it may take us a little longer to answer the phones during busier times so please be patient or try us again if you struggle to get through the first time. Everyone should have Brendan and my mobile numbers just in case there is a problem. If not, they are below.

Stay safe everyone!

Best wishes

Sally and Brendan
