Every dog is different, and that's why I never believe in rushing an appointment just to keep to the clock.

Some dogs need a little extra time to settle, some need more reassurance, and sometimes we need to change the plan to make sure the experience stays as positive and stress-free as possible.

Listening to what a dog is telling me helps build trust and confidence, making future visits easier and more enjoyable for them.

Grass seed season is here, so please take a moment to check your dog’s paws after every walk, especially if you’ve been through long grass.

Grass seeds can easily become trapped between the toes or work their way into the skin, causing discomfort, infection and sometimes needing veterinary treatment if they’re not found early.

A quick check only takes a minute and could save your dog a lot of pain. While you’re there, it’s also worth checking around the ears, eyes and under the armpits, as these are common places for grass seeds to hide.

If you notice your dog persistently licking a paw, limping, or showing signs of discomfort after a walk, it’s best to contact your vet.

Last week was a bit of a whirlwind… and I wouldn’t have had it any other way! 😂

Between 7am starts, finishing as late as 8pm on some days, and trying to remember what day it actually was, it’s safe to say I’ve been kept on my toes.

To top it off, I had the privilege of representing Southerndown Golf Club, and we’ve made it through to the Welsh Team Championship knockout round in August. Looking forward to seeing how we get on!

As for photos of all the lovely dogs I’ve groomed… well… once again, I was completely distracted by waggy tails, happy faces and giving out far too many fusses. My camera roll suggests I hardly worked at all! 🫣😂

Thank you to every one of you for keeping me so busy and trusting me with your dogs. I genuinely appreciate every booking, every recommendation and every bit of support.

What a week it’s been ☀️

I can’t complain though I do love the sunshine, and I even managed a little beach day with the kids. 🏖️

Despite the heatwave, all the dogs have been groomed in an air-conditioned room, with no-heat drying to keep them as comfortable and cool as possible. 🐾

Three dogs, three different coats, and three individual grooming routines.

Every dog has their own needs when it comes to grooming, whether that’s maintaining a healthy coat, keeping on top of knots and tangles, or simply helping them feel comfortable and clean. Taking the time to work with each dog as an individual helps create a positive grooming experience and ensures they leave looking and feeling their best.

These three were brilliant for their appointments today, and it was a pleasure to spend my Saturday helping them stay happy, comfortable, and well-groomed.

First puppy groom = a huge success 💜🐾

This handsome boy came in for his very first puppy groom today, and he was an absolute star. From the moment he arrived, he was calm, curious and happy to take everything in at his own pace.

A big part of that success comes from the fantastic work his family have been doing at home. Regular brushing, gentle handling and positive introductions to grooming make such a difference, helping puppies feel comfortable and confident when they come into the salon.

Puppy grooms are all about building trust and creating positive experiences. We keep everything calm, gentle and low-pressure, allowing each puppy to progress at a pace that suits them.

I’d say he enjoyed himself too, because he was so relaxed that he actually fell asleep during his groom! 🥹💤

Starting grooming early helps puppies learn that grooming is nothing to worry about and can set them up for stress-free appointments throughout their lives.

Sometimes life gets busy, and lately social media has taken a bit of a back seat. Between family life, birthdays, and everything else that comes with it, I haven’t been as active online as I would normally like.

Even when I’m not posting regularly, my business hasn’t stopped, and that’s largely thanks to all of you.

I can’t thank you enough for recommending me to others, whether that’s through social media, chatting to people while you’re out on walks, or telling your friends and family about my services. Your support and trust mean more than you know, and every recommendation helps a small business like mine continue to grow.
