🌟Tuesdays Tips🌟

📣 With the weather warming up, the cold blooded wildlife species are starting to be more prevalent throughout the day. Of the three snake species in the UK -Grass, Smooth and Adder - only the Common Adder is venomous.

Adders are usually found in heathlands and grasslands, which means that dogs can disturb adders whilst sniffing in the undergrowth. Most bites happen to the face, neck and legs.

It is important to note that adders are protected species under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, and it is an offence to kill or injure an adder, so they should not be handled.

The effects of an adder bite is usually seen within 2 hours of being bitten, but if you see a snake bite your dog, then seek veterinary treatment as soon as possible.

Symptoms of a snake bite include:

🐍swelling at the site of the bite, this can also cause problems with eating, drinking and breathing.

🐍puncture wounds maybe visible

🐍lethargy

🐍distress

🐍vomiting, diarrhoea and salivation

🐍lameness if bitten on a leg

🐍bruising

🐍collapse

🌟In the event that your dog is bitten you should:

🐾Leave the bite alone, do not attempt to suck or cut the venom out, or apply a tourniquet. These methods have been proven to be ineffective and can cause further damage.

🐾Try to keep your dog as quiet and as still as possible as this can reduce the spread of venom. If possible carry your dog home or back to your car.

🐾All pets that have been bitten should be seen by a vet as soon as possible.

One week count down to Crufts 2025!!

In one week these three perfect dogs will be hitting the green carpet, so excited!!

I will be running Moosey in Champ on Friday, as will Kert with FunkyDuck. And then Kert with Copernicus and Funky will also be running in the singles event on Friday.

Can’t wait to run my perfect girl for the first time at Crufts!
My first ever time competing at Crufts was 6 years ago in 2019, when Luna and myself represented Wales in the International Event together, it was the most amazing experience and a memory that will last a lifetime.

I can’t wait to make those memories this year with Moosey, and will enjoy every second of it 💚

As of 17th February 2025, unfortunately some of our raw prices will increase, as raw food and natural treat companies struggle with the constant increases to national minimum wage, materials, increased courier charges and product costs; it was inevitable.

And as a small business myself, I unfortunately can not afford to absorb these price rises into the business.
I will continue to provide top quality products from reliable sources, and as long as the quality doesn’t deteriorate, I’ll continue to sell the products.

Today celebrates the Welsh ‘Valentines Day’. St Dynwyn is often translated to ‘she who leads a blessed life’, and I feel so so lucky to have the life we have with my wonderful family and our amazing dogs.

With temperatures dropping over the past couple of days, just make sure to keep your dog safe 🐕
The most important thing for me is to make sure you wash your dogs paws off if they’ve walked through gritted areas, as if they lick this off themselves it can make them poorly ❄️
