1st Easthampstead Scout Group

1st Easthampstead Scout Group 1st Easthampstead (St Michael’s) Scout Group was originally formed in 1910. We have Scouting sections covering ages 6 - 15 with almost 140 members.

1st Easthampstead (St Michael’s) Scout Group was originally formed in 1910, and although it closed for a few years during and after the 2nd World War, it is one of the oldest Groups in Scouting. We wear lemon neckerchiefs with a distinctive ‘Centurion’ logo on the back. This logo links us to the nearby Iron Age Hill Fort of ‘Caesars Camp’. We currently have Scouting sections covering the age range

6 to 15 with a membership of around 140. We own our headquarters which are known as The Westwick Hall

We are part of the South Berkshire District with other groups in Bracknell, Sandhurst and Crowthorne

This week we learnt how to start a fire using different methods. We lit a tea light with a match. Used flint and steel to caught cotton wool alight. We used a battery and hay. We also collected kindle and different woods sizes to build a fire.We also learnt how to extinguish a fire.
