Hello friends of Mirkwood, I thought I'd give you a bit of advance information about a couple of exciting weekends we have coming up! πŸ‘β€οΈ
On Saturday 26th September we will be carrying out the autumn inspection of all the girls and boy sheeps at home. This will involve sitting them in a deckchair, trimming their toenails and worming them as well as trimming any mucky wool away from their eyes, ears and bottoms (for some unknown reason, I normally end up with that job!) πŸ˜‚
Thanks to Claire Gray and her husband Jo we now have two sheep seats which speeds the job up a bit but we do need a few bodies to make it work so don't be shy, it really is good fun and a great excuse to get up close and personal with the most gorgeous sheep in the world. πŸ‘β€οΈ I will provide all the refreshment you need and we usually stop for a break for pizzas round about lunchtime. πŸ‘β€οΈ
But the fun doesn't end there, oh no, the following weekend my good friend Kim is coming up from Brighton and it currently my intention to do exactly the same with the boy sheeps down the road so if you can't make it for Saturday 26th September you may be able to make it for Saturday 3rd October? πŸ‘β€οΈ
All joking aside, it is an absolutely vital job but one that I can no longer do on my own so any help would be gratefully received. You don't have to commit for the day, come when you want and leave when you want, you will be made to feel most welcome! πŸ‘β€οΈ

As the dust settles on another successful Sheepy Shuffle, self-appointed spokessheep Neville wanted to thank every single one of you that entered, you are all truly wonderful people. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ»
The race website on Total Race Timing (thank you Jon) has closed now and you will no longer be able to enter your time, You will of course, still receive your medal, even we're not that mean! 🀣 Half of the medals have already been posted and the rest will go out as soon as the rest of the Jiffy bags arrive (who underestimated then?πŸ˜‚)
The Sheepy Shuffle page remains open all year so if you want to see your name in lights just send me your Strava trace and pictures (or tag Sheepy Shuffle in your own post) and I will post them and people can gaze in wonder at your athletic achievement. πŸƒπŸΌπŸƒπŸΌ
I will do another post in a few weeks to let you know how much you have raised for The Mirkwood Rest Home for Retired Sheep but for now I'd like to say a massive thank you to the 460 of you who entered, a few short of the places we had available but given how late I got it up and running and how little publicity I've been able to do, I and all the sheep (they all seem to have Argos catalogues for some reason 😁) are very pleased with how it has gone. πŸ‘πŸ΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ Ώ
And finally I would like to say a massive thank you to the one and only Mandy Foyster who designed this and all the previous medals and has done all the administration up until this year. Now I've had a taste myself of what it takes I am even more in awe of this wonderful lady! πŸ˜‡πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ‘

It's apple time again! πŸ‘πŸπŸŽ Yesterday the lovely Irene and her husband Ian came to see the girls and brought us a wheelbarrow full of apples and today Gemma and Kerry from Tesco contacted me and I went to collect some more! πŸ‘πŸŽπŸ
