It breaks my heart to write this, but after a lot of thought, I've made the incredibly difficult decision to close Carrot Patch Guinea Pig and Rabbit Rescue.
This is not a decision I've made lightly. Rising costs for hay, food, bedding, and veterinary care have made it impossible for me to continue running the rescue the way I always wanted to. I simply can't afford to keep taking in more animals while giving every one of them the standard of care they deserve.
As part of this, four of our guinea pigs will be going to carefully chosen new homes. The rest of the animals will be staying here with me, where they'll continue to be loved and cared for. They'll become my little sanctuary fluffs, living out their lives safely with me. Although the rescue is closing, I'm not giving up on them I just can't continue taking in any more guinea pigs or rabbits.
If anyone would still like to support the animals currently in my care, donations are always hugely appreciated. While we won't be operating as a rescue anymore, the costs of caring for our sanctuary fluffs will continue, and every donation, no matter how small, will help provide them with food, hay, bedding, enrichment, and any veterinary care they may need.
I want to thank everyone who has supported Carrot Patch over the years. Whether you've adopted from us, donated, shared our posts, or simply cheered us on, you've helped give so many little lives a second chance. I'll always be grateful for your kindness and support.
This rescue has meant the world to me, and closing it is one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. Thank you for being part of our journey and for understanding why I've had to make this decision.
With love,
Carrot patch rescue ❤️🩹
