The Biggar Farrier

Some of you may have noticed I don't post much on Facebook. To be honest social media doesn't interest me much, but 365 days ago I took the biggest gamble of my life.

I left the isle of wight, home for 26 years and returned to my teenage home. Swapping the sun beaches for the beautiful hills of Biggar.

Little did I know that this would be one of the best decisions of my life. I would like to say a massive thank you to all my clients, vets, members of the horse community and of course my gorgeous wife!

How did I celebrate my first year back?
Well with a wee remedial job this morning of course lol!

As horse fanatic, working and owning horses most of my life. Where else would I get married but in my horses stable block.

A huge thank you to Sue and Andy the owners on Baitlaw livery for allowing the ceremony to be held there.

Thank you to Jenny for doing me the honour of becoming my wife. An absolutely perfect day only made possible due to hours of hard work from Jenny's best friends Karen and Beverly.

Kit Foster and his daughter Nico provided live music all evening. Truly good friends made the day beautiful 🙏❤️

So approximate 3 weeks ago I thought I was going to loss my beloved William to peritonitis.
I have to give a massive thank you to Armac vets for diagnosing and treating him so promptly.

We have weeks of slow steady tacks ahead of but my boy is well on the way to a full recovery!!!

Glad to say it's unusual to come across feet in this state these days.

A customer took delivery of 2 mini shetlands yesterday and had me in today. They were free to a good home.

I'm really pleased with how well they trimmed up today and now they are with a responsible owner, they'll get better and better 😊
