🐾DBS Checked Hi there, My name is Sam and I created Tails 2 Trails back in November 2021 because I've always had a passion for animals (I studied a Degree in Animal

Conservation at Petroc) and as a Dog owner myself, walking my Dogs is the highlight of my day. So I decided to create Tails 2 Trails and hopefully enrich the lives of other Dogs, giving them the opportunity to socialise and play in safe settings, in groups alongside other Dogs who are suitable playmates in terms of size and personality.

Ben Holloway (BH Digital) came along for my final walk today to take some photos, and I really put him to the test with my general appearance and awkwardness around the camera 🀘 However he did a really good job given what he had to work with, and more importantly was a really nice guy.

Ben gave up his time and effort for no cost while he builds up his portfolio of Business photography, and as a (very) small business myself, I'll always do what I can to support others (especially if they are good people).

Thank you so much for coming along Ben, and all the best to you going forward πŸ™

Another day filled with fun! 😁

Kolo, Luna, Hoshi, Tinker & Teddy went to Melbury for some off roading through the trees, jumping the drainage ditches and in Tinkers case, playing in whatever standing water she could find πŸ’¦

Indie, Loki, Alfie, Louis & Digger had some games of chase around the allotment before heading down towards the coast path.

Then Tilly, Freddie, Teddy, Bella & I were joined by Ben Holloway who kindly took some time out of his day to take some business photos for me. As somebody who firmly prefers to be on the other side of the camera, this walk was a lot more enjoyable for the dogs than myself, but he got the full experience of dog walking with plenty of mud and a torrential shower to finish up πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

The weather didn't lend itself to good photography today, but I still think the first photo in this set is one of my favourites. Not because of the photographic qualities, but because this is exactly what I wanted when I started Tails 2 Trails. 3 fantastic dogs, 3 totally different breeds, exploring new paths together through beautiful greenery πŸ’š

Otherwise, it was another swampy day, with far too much mud and rain πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ Not that the dogs minded, in fact the rain makes a few of them come more alive 😍

A warm welcome to Vinnie, who I'll be offering pop in visits to a couple of times per week. What a handsome boy too 😍😍

Paw Pad Parlour has 3 students who are looking to qualify next year and are looking for dogs for their portfolios ⭐ Grooms will take place on Tuesdays, fully supervised and will be at a discounted student price πŸ™ŒπŸ»

So if you're looking to treat your dog to a pre-christmas pampering, this is a great way of paying the favour forwards and saving yourself some money while doing so 😁

Just in time for me to get them filthy again by Wednesday πŸ˜‚

❗️RAWHIDE❗️

POSSIBLY THE MOST DANGEROUS DOG TREAT ON THE PLANET!

The chews are made from cattle or horse hides and their journey starts with the hides being soaked in a toxic sodium sulphide to remove the hair and fat. More chemicals are used in order to split the hide into layers which is then washed with hydrogen peroxide to give the white β€œpure” look and remove the rancid smell. Now comes the pretty festive colours and the glue to form cute shapes.

On testing, these chews have shown traces of arsenic, mercury, chromium and formaldehyde.
If that wasn`t bad enough they regularly cause intestinal blockages, poisoning from chemical residue and choking. The chews go slippery when wet and are near impossible to get hold of to save a choking dog.

Leave them in the shop or if some well meaning person buys them for your dog put them safely away and then dispose in the bin!

I really loved today (possibly because I had a later start, which meant a cheeky full English at Morrisons before my first walk 🐷). But also because the dogs had an amazing time, there were no dramas; just loads of playing, some lovely interactions and a great first day for Coco and Lily.

You can make predictions about which dogs will become good friends, but some really catch you off guard. For example, I thought Coco (a dachshund) would be a little nervous around Bella (a Labrador) and stick to the smaller dogs on the walk. Nope. She was chasing Bella around the whole time πŸ˜… her little legs must be exhausted this evening as one of Bella's strides was about 6 of Cocos 😍

I've been fortunate enough to walk Amber since 2021, and she loves a gentle cuddle and a bit of fuss. I was trying to take a lovely gentle photo with a dog who holds a very special place in my heart, when she lunged up and playfully bit me, to start a play fight. Something she's never done before πŸ˜‚

Looking back at the photos I somehow took without even realising during the "attack" reminded me of somebody πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Thank you to all of my customers who moved their regular walking slots for me today πŸ™πŸ» a wonderful early morning walk (although a little early for my liking 😴) with Murray, Oakley, Teddy, Alvin & Pip. The early morning seemed to agree with them as they were skipping about 😁

Then Kirra and Amber had a later walk, and reverted to their younger selves, and my camera couldn't deal with the lack of light and their running around, although I think the blurry photo does it more justice πŸ˜…βš‘

Late post, but I did remember! Wednesday afternoons and evenings are mega busy with school pickup, swimming, gymnastics, and then Arsenal were playing πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈπŸ˜‚

A great day though! Oakley, Kolo and Luna tore around a big field, chasing sticks and balls!
Frieda (who is my favourite dog to photograph because she's all ear and limbs 😍), Teddy, Indy and Loki headed down the burrows for some excellent games of chase and play fighting.
Then Amber, Tilly, Bella, Neville and Teddy went to Griggs, again armed with tennis balls to keep the energetic ones going, and cuddles for the more placid pups 😍

Walks at Huntshaw, the Burrows and Fremington Quay weren't enough to stop me seeking out my magpie friend again after work, this time armed with snacks. He's still not confident enough to eat from my hand, but I'll be damned if I give up that easily πŸ˜‚
Alvin and Luna went on a few off-piste adventures in the woods, while Murray found every drip of water he could and Teddy offered some dignity to proceedings.

Digger, Indy, Loki, Teddy and Frieda made the most of the sheep being down the other end of the burrows, but on the way back discovered that they'd reassembled en mass, and brought some horses with them too. So all of the dogs dragged me back to the van in record time, as I looked like some low budget Santa being dragged behind 5 dogs on reins.

Kirra, Bella and Freddie had fun chasing each other around down Fremington, while Tilly kept me company and gave me somebody to chat to.

Good news! My new phone camera lens was waiting when I got home, so hopefully some better photos to come in the following days, weather permitting πŸ™ŒπŸ»

I hope everyone's had a lovely weekend? I spent Saturday pet sitting Kirra, and taking her out on walks with Amber, and a gorgeous show cocker puppy called Millie 😍
I can't wait to get my camera fixed πŸ™„ hopefully tomorrow 🀞🏻
I also got to meet a friendly resident Magpie in Yelland. I didn't catch his name, but residents have hand fed him, and he was happy to join me on a fair chunk of our evening walk, hopping from post to post alongside me 😍
