Got to spend my afternoon with this handsome fella today 🐾

I decided Harley needed a little rest day after doing lots of group walks with me recently, so today it was just me and Shomo enjoying some quieter one-to-one time together.

Not every dog needs the same thing every day, and sometimes a calmer walk and a bit of extra attention is exactly what they need to recharge and reset.

Safe to say Shomo made the most of having me all to himself today 😊

How was everyone’s bank holiday weekend?

I had a lovely weekend spending time with a new client milo, we spent a lovely time going for country walks, cuddles and chilled times, he’s such a little character, everyone he met fell in love with him

You might not like this… but not every dog walker works the same way.

As a dog walker and sitter, there are a few things I won’t do.

I won’t take on dogs I can’t safely support, because that’s not fair on them or the rest of the group. I won’t overfill walks just to fit more dogs in, because that often leads to stress and poor experiences. And I won’t ignore what a dog is telling me just to get through the day.

What I will do is keep things calm, pay attention to each dog, and make sure they feel safe and understood while they’re with me.

Because good care isn’t about squeezing more in, it’s about doing it properly.

You might be thinking… “my dog will be too much for a walker.”

I hear this more than you’d think, and in most cases, it’s not that the dog is “too much” at all. It’s that they haven’t had the right match yet.

New people, new routines, and new environments can feel overwhelming for some dogs. That’s why I keep things calm, take the time to understand what your dog needs, and go at a pace that works for them. No rushing, no forcing, just building trust so they can settle properly.

The goal is simple. A dog who feels safe, and an owner who feels confident leaving them in my care.

If you’ve been unsure whether your dog would cope, feel free to reach out.

All our walks have an element of just being, we spend time just being in the moment and present, allowing every dog to absorb what’s going on around them without reacting, it also allows them to decompress

“Most people expect their dog to ‘just settle’… but that’s not how it works.”

Every dog is different. Some feel comfortable straight away, others need a few visits to relax and trust a new person. It depends on their personality, past experiences, and how consistent we can keep things for them.

When I work with a new dog, I take the time they need. That might mean a gentle introduction, sticking closely to their usual routine, and building things up gradually so they feel safe rather than overwhelmed.
The goal isn’t speed. It’s a dog who feels genuinely comfortable and secure.

If you’re wondering how your dog might cope, comment their age and what they find tricky, and I’ll give you a rough idea of what to expect.
