It has been one year since the world lost Vanessa, James and Sara.
Vanessa a strong woman, amazing mother, brilliant vet and a fantastic friend. James and Sara two beautiful children, smart, sporty with a life of hopes and dreams ahead of them.
Taken in the most cruel, cowardly and selfish way.
We remember you today and always will ❤️💙❤️

🐾 Keeping Your Pets Cool & Safe This Summer! ☀️

As the temperatures rise, it is incredibly important to remember that our furry friends handle heat very differently than we do. Since dogs and cats can’t sweat the way humans do, they are much more vulnerable to heatstroke and dehydration.

Here are top veterinary tips to keep your pets safe, happy, and cool during warm weather:

✅️ Never Leave Pets in a Parked Car
Even on a mild day, the temperature inside a car can climb to dangerous, life-threatening levels in just a few minutes—even with the windows cracked and the car parked in the shade. If you are running errands, the safest place for your pet is at home.

✅️Guard Against Scorching Pavements
Asphalt, concrete, and sand can become intensely hot under the sun, which can painfully burn sensitive paw pads.
❗️The 7-Second Test: Press the back of your hand firmly against the pavement for 7 seconds. If it’s too hot for your hand, it is too hot for your pet’s paws!
❗️Tip: Stick to walking your pets during the cooler morning or late evening hours.

✅️ Provide Constant Hydration and Shade
Make sure your pets always have access to fresh, clean, and cool drinking water both indoors and outdoors. If they spend time in the garden, ensure there is plenty of fully shaded space where they can escape the direct sun. Adding ice cubes to their water bowl is a fun way to keep it chilled!

‼️Know the Signs of Heatstroke

Heatstroke is a medical emergency. Keep a close eye on your pets for any of these warning signs:
Excessive, heavy panting or drooling
Lethargy, weakness, or unsteadiness on their feet
Dark red, purple, or very pale gums
Vomiting or diarrhea
What to do: If you suspect heatstroke, move your pet to a cool or air-conditioned area immediately. Dampen their fur with cool (never freezing cold or ice-cold) water, and contact a vet right away.
‼️Take Extra Care with Vulnerable Pets
Some pets are much more sensitive to the heat than others. Pay extra close attention to:
Flat-faced breeds (like Pugs, Bulldogs, Persian cats), as their airways make it harder for them to cool down through panting.
Elderly pets, puppies/kittens, and pets with existing health conditions.
Pets with thick or dark coats.
Let's make sure our beloved animals stay safe and comfortable all season long🐶🐱☀️
