I have a few spaces left for the first two weeks in December if anybody is looking for an appointment for clipping or needing yard cover 🐴💈

I’m finishing up on 19th December until 7th January to spend some time with my family and my own horses over Christmas and new year 🎄 🎅🏻 🥂

Here’s a wee pic of my very cute pest control team because why not 🤣🐱

A wee welfare clip tonight for the lovely Dixie - with the help of some chemical courage/sleepy juice she was a wee superstar 🤣

Her lovely owner said she can be quite stressy and spends most of the time overheating and sweating in her winter woolies. It was very satisfying taking all that floof off. She must feel incredible now ✂️

Two very handsome boys sporting their high Irish clips 🌟

This has been a very popular clip recently. It’s ideal for horses in light/medium work as keeps their rumps covered and warm while doing more leisurely work like hacking while taking hair off of the areas most likely to get hot and sweaty when doing any strenuous exercise 🐎💨

They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn

At the going down of the sun and in the morning

We will remember them ❤️💜

We don’t only clip to keep horses that are in work comfortable 🐴 Clipping away that extra floof makes inspecting and managing skin conditions so much easier. Applying treatments and allowing less drying time. This big guy was loving life being scrubbed down after discovering what was lurking under his winter woolies ✂️

Hey everybody! I’ve had a lot of messages over the last few days - I’m still awaiting the return of my last lot of blades from sharpening so will get everybody booked in when I get them back 😊

I cannot emphasise enough how important it is to present your clipper with a clean horse. I’m going to start refusing service with a fee for my time to anybody handing me greasy/dirty/wet horses as it’s blunting my blades and putting extra strain on my machines. Also it makes the task very unenjoyable for me and your horses as it’s pulling and snagging their hair and leaves an absolutely guff finish ❌

Horses must be bathed the day before the service and be dry. I’ve been too lax with this over the years and I can’t be anymore. The expense of blunting multiple blades for one dirty horse, knackering my thousands of £ of machines and leaving absolutely filthy can’t go on.

Hope you all appreciate my struggle and I don’t sound like too much of a moany 🐄🤣

Thankyou 😘

‘I just bathed him last week!’

Did ye, aye? 🤦🏻‍♀️

I always ask my clients to bath their horse the day before clipping (this is to allow for adequate drying time).
Most of my clients are booked in around 2-4 weeks in advance, so that’s plenty of time to organise bathing your horse!

But really, why should your horse be as clean as possible for clipping? 🤨

• To prevent dirt, grease, mud, grit etc blunting blades super quickly, causing them to snag and pull on your horse’s hair.

• To look after the clipper motors - dirty hair and blunt blade will put excess strain on the motor, which will cause damage, and an expensive repair bill.

• To make is as comfortable an experience as possible for the horse - hair snagging HURTS.

• To get the smoothest, most flawless, perfect clip possible.
Dirt = lines and patches.
Clippers are perfectionists, it upsets us to leave you with a sub-standard clip.

• To avoid a ‘dirty horse’ surcharge from your professional clipper, or a repair bill for damaged equipment.

We hate clipping the horse like this, we hate what it does to our equipment, we hate charging more money.

Bath your horse.

On my memories today

One from a few years ago when woody had a pre clip groom. This wasn’t even what was clipped off afterwards 🤣

I clip my shetlands every year. Not because they do any kind of hard work 🥴 but they get so itchy and warm at this time of year. A lot easier to manage different skin conditions with all of that floof off ✂️

I think I’ve gotten back to anybody that had messaged last week but if I haven’t then give me another nudge please🥴

Pic of the OG kittens and the newbie that I impulse bought this evening because why not. Didn’t end in a divorce so that’s always a bonus 🤣🐱

Hello everybody! 🙋🏼‍♀️

For anybody who doesn’t know me, I’m Rachael. I’ve created a new business page as Facebook seems to have removed my original when I “temporarily” deactivated it when I was off on maternity leave 🤣

I clipped professionally for a lot of years but took a step back after I had my second baby as time was very tight but now my youngest is at nursery for most of the day I’m finding myself with a lot more time on my hands so now offering my services again out-with my family and friends.

I have a range of machines from quiet battery powered ones for nervous horses or for yards without access to mains power to more heavy duty mains machines.

I’m also going to be offering freelance yard cover if there is a demand for it. I have my own yard with 7 horses of my own at the moment along with way too many other animals 🤣. I’ve worked in the racing industry and on some lovely livery yards throughout the years so very experienced.

Please feel free to drop me a message with any inquiries and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can 😊

Thankyou 🩷✂️
