ABOUT
The idea for “Help for Hilltop” developed from a donation of rugs for the horses, ponies and donkeys at Hilltop Farm just outside of Morpeth
The thought of a fund raising campaign was shared with friends who immediately came on board happy to help all the animals but the focus being predominately on the horse’s ponies and donkeys. The main players leading the campaign are Wendy Strang, Rach
el Johnston, Halcyon Maben, Natalie Lynn and Victoria Conway, BUT we want everyone who has a love of animals to take part in whatever way they can. Our aim is to help directly fund a list of needs identified by Robin Hills the owner which so far include a visit from a blacksmith, bedding and feed for the winter. HILLTOP ANIMALS
There are approximately 30 horse’s ponies and donkeys ranging from a 19hh sire called Enzo and a tiny little Shetland called Crunchy who is the boss! They arrived at the farm for various reasons some were taken in as owners could not afford to keep them, one poor horse was brought in from Appleby by the RSPCA totally exhausted from being raced up and down. It is our intention, that as money is raised, purchases of essential supplies or animal welfare services will be made directly by us and delivered to the Hilltop horses, ponies and donkeys. There will be total transparency on the amount of money raised and how it is spent, and everyone will be able to see the results of the campaign which will be highlighted on the Help for Hilltop Horses fb page. We will be running an accumulator displayed here and also at Carrs Billington, Morpeth who have kindly allowed us an area where we can promote the project. We have our own ideas about ways in which we can raise money, which will be advertised in due course but we welcome any suggestions and encourage you to take part in whichever way you can. Any cheques can be made payable to Halcyon Maben who will cash them for the project. FOR SALE /AUCTION
If you have any items , goods or services that you would like to donate then Rachel Johnston will be running this page and you should get in touch with Rachel to let her know. These will be put up for auction or for sale with the minimum bid identified. Perhaps you can grab yourself a bargain. NEWS
We want all fundraisers who wish to do their own thing to keep us informed via facebook , let us know who you are, what you did, how much you raised remember EVERY LITTLE COUNTS. At the end of this campaign the names of all the people who have helped or contributed in some way will be entered in to a draw for a £50 Carrs Billington Voucher. PLANS so far
- BBDRC will hold an event such as dressage or show jumping event
- We are planning to run a Prize Dressage competition and have a cake stall and tombola on the same day
- We are going to have a For Sale page were items donated can be auctioned
- Natalie will take donations and gifts
- We are going to provide takeaway tea, coffee and cakes at BBDRC events
IDEAS FOR FUND RAISING
Could you run a coffee morning at your yard ? a domino card or do a sponsored tack clean, wash a car, walk a dog, sponsored ironing or something else? Could you help at one of our events? Do you know any local businesses that may offer a beauty session, a haircut, a bag of shavings a bale of hay the list is endless? Would you prefer to make a cash donation? Many thanks
