Corriegarth Estate

Apprentice Shepherd Opportunity

An opportunity has arisen on an exciting and developing farming operation at Corriegarth estate. The farming operation consists of 14,000 acres, containing adequate low ground and facilities to allow for effective livestock management. The farming operation currently runs 1300 Blackface ewes and 150 cross ewes.

All year-round sheep husbandry including lambing , marking , dosing, hill gathers, tick treatment , dipping , shearing and all the usual required shepherding matters. In house silage production and grass reseeding also takes place, with some other tractor work required throughout the season.
General estate upkeep and maintenance matters form a smaller part of the role but would be required throughout the year.

This package includes a 2 bedroom house in close proximity to the main farm steading with council tax and electricity included in the package. Adequate dog kennels are also provided with a small outbuilding. Wages as per Agricultural wages board Apprentice Rates and will also include an annual Wet Weather allowance and any training courses required to be undertaken to meet the job requirements.

General Estate Worker

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking General Estate Worker to join our team on a private estate near Strathtay, Perthshire.
This is a varied outdoor role involving:
Gardening and grounds maintenance (mowing, strimming, hedge cutting, weeding, etc.)
General estate maintenance and upkeep
Firewood processing
Assisting with deer management and other wild animals in our park
Assisting with our Wood-Mizer sawmill (producing timber)
Chainsaw, ATV, spraying tickets would be an advantage, but not essential, as training will be provided for the right person.
Essential Requirements:
Valid clean UK driving licence (essential)
Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weathers
Reliable, self-motivated and trustworthy
Based locally (as we have no more staff accommodation available)

Part-time housekeeping role with accommodation on Highland estate

We’re looking for an energetic person with strong attention to detail to join a small team looking after our four holiday properties (ranging from off-grid glamping cabin to five-bedroom house) on a 3000-acre estate in northern Perthshire.

• Part time (guaranteed 15 hrs/week)
• Additional hours in peak season
• Attractive package includes exceptional, recently renovated, two-bedroom cottage (council tax paid)
• Stunning rural location on family-run estate 20 minutes from Pitlochry

The prime role is assisting with changeovers and maintaining overall presentation of these high-end properties, so a keen eye and meticulous approach is essential, along with a positive attitude.

We can guarantee a minimum of 15 hours per week across the year, though there’s every chance this will be increased during high season. Additional housekeeping work on other properties may also be involved.

Depending on skill sets, there may be occasional estate employment opportunities for a partner.

The accommodation tied with the job is a delightful estate property that has recently been totally renovated from top to bottom so is extremely well insulated and all bathroom/kitchen fittings are entirely brand new.

We are looking for someone seeking a long-term role and comfortable working both independently and in regular communication with both the owners and manager.

Glenbuchat Estate is seeking a seasonal housekeeping assistant to assist with its exclusive eleven bedroom lodge during the busy sporting season, from September to January.
The successful candidate will assist our head housekeeper and existing team in providing guests with first class service throughout their stay, ensuring all areas of accommodation are kept clean, laundered and maintained to the highest standard.
Experience in housekeeping and hospitality is desired, however tailored training will be provided where necessary.
Attention to detail is key for this role. The ideal candidate must be personable, dependable and be able to work collaboratively as a part of a wider estate team. Flexibility is important within working hours as shifts will include evenings and weekends.
A UK drivers license is desirable but not essential.

Hatchery Manager

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Hatchery Manager to run a small private hatchery, dedicated to supporting and enhancing wild salmon populations within a well-managed private estate.

Assistant head gardener role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced gardener to join a small team developing and maintaining a large, privately owned, garden near Bibury. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who prides themselves on hard work and attention to detail.

Working closely with an experienced Head Gardener (deputising in their absence), you will assist in the maintenance and development of all areas of the gardens and in supporting the growth and development of all team members.

Diverse mature and semi-mature gardens including two walled gardens. One providing flowers and vegetables for the main house, the other a walled rose garden surrounded by espaliered fruit trees. glasshouses, parterres, formal lawns, parkland and woods, rose gardens, shrub and herbaceous borders and hedges to name some parts of the gardens.

The willingness to work in all weathers is essential

Strong emphasis on plant knowledge, detail and quality

PA1/PA6 knapsack sprayer and Chainsaw tickets would be an advantage, but not a prerequisite.
Ride on and pedestrian mower, strimmer, chainsaw, hedge trimmer use and maintenance, are required to fulfil the role.

2-5 years experience as an assistant head gardener required

Overtime every 5th Saturday upon successful completion of probation period and available leading up to summer events.
