🐾 CLAW CLIPPING — A LITTLE SOMETHING EVERY PET OWNER SHOULD KNOW! 🐾

Did you know that inside your pet's claw is a sensitive area called the “quick”? 🩸

The quick contains blood vessels and nerves, and sometimes it can extend further down the nail than expected. This is especially common when claws have been allowed to grow longer.

I always assess your pet's claws before clipping and will do everything I can to avoid the quick. However, animals can move unexpectedly, or the quick may simply be longer than anticipated — meaning a claw can occasionally bleed even when every care has been taken.

🩹 If this happens, please don't panic!

A small amount of bleeding from the quick can look scary, but it is usually not life-threatening. The area can be temporarily sore or uncomfortable, but I am fully equipped with the appropriate supplies to stop the bleeding and make sure your pet is okay before we finish.

❤️ My priority is always your pet's safety and comfort.

I will never deliberately cut the quick, and I will always take as much care as possible to prevent it. Unfortunately, with animals, accidents can sometimes happen — but I'm prepared to deal with them calmly and safely. 🐶🐱🐰
