Welfare clips- why have them done?

This time of year means lots of ponies are shedding their winter coats. Some may struggle to shed their coats off efficiently due to-

• Age
• Health issues
• Breed type

This also leaves a lot of horses sweating just stood in their fields!

Thats where I come in!

Meet Titch, my childhood pony who must be knocking on 35 years of age! With her being not only an older pony, she is a native type (thick coat), and she also suffers with sweetitch, leaving her stuck in some sort of rug all throughout the year! By clipping her, she stays cool under her fly rug, and you can get to her skin far easier to apply lotions and sprays.

She’s always quite happy to see me around this time of year with my clippers, as she knows how much more comfortable she is afterwards.

Leading the charge over the post and rail with Buck 🔥.

Buck was on a two week bootcamp with me to get him out hacking alone with confidence, and what a dude he turned out to be! He went from bolting/rearing/spinning at the sight of anything scary, to going out hunting with me!

Safe to say, his scary spooking antics are behind him, and he’s onto having many adventures with his rider this summer 🌞
