Even this GREY TB had enough coat this summer to be clipped!

She’s feeling cool and comfortable now with all of these heatwaves we are getting. If you are finding your horse or pony to be sweating easily, or even getting warm in the stable/field before work, this always remains an option to take to keep them cool 😎🧊

After a 3 day stay at the Royal Welsh and 7 turnouts across that time, its safe to say my hands are a little sore! BUT it all becomes worth it watching each horse pull out of their boxes looking completely immaculate. A little miracle work here and there to pull things off, a hand from the whole team with everything, and all of the gratitude and praise kept me going strong enough to win Best Turned Out for the Llangeinor Pentyrch hunt on the final day!! 🤩.

Thank you to each of the competitors for choosing me for turnout, it means a lot to be able to present your horses to the Royal Welsh crowd and have a bit of my turnout abilities getting shown off in the meantime. Every single one of you rode your socks off and you all should be so proud of yourselves. Roll on next year guys!

His response to anything he doesn’t fancy often includes circus tricks such as this one. He’s been a real sweetheart compared to how he was when he came to us. Absolutely loves coming in for a fuss and enjoys his rides out as long as nothing offends him 🙈

Welfare clips- why have them done?

This time of year means lots of ponies are shedding their winter coats. Some may struggle to shed their coats off efficiently due to-

• Age
• Health issues
• Breed type

This also leaves a lot of horses sweating just stood in their fields!

Thats where I come in!

Meet Titch, my childhood pony who must be knocking on 35 years of age! With her being not only an older pony, she is a native type (thick coat), and she also suffers with sweetitch, leaving her stuck in some sort of rug all throughout the year! By clipping her, she stays cool under her fly rug, and you can get to her skin far easier to apply lotions and sprays.

She’s always quite happy to see me around this time of year with my clippers, as she knows how much more comfortable she is afterwards.
