๐Ÿพ Polite Reminder of My Working Hours ๐Ÿพ

My working hours are 9:30am โ€“ 5:30pm
Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

As many of you know, Iโ€™m extremely busy running the hut and Iโ€™m also a mum to a toddler, so I may not always be able to reply to messages straight away.

Please be assured that all messages will be responded to during working hours when I get the opportunity to do so. I truly appreciate your patience and understanding while I balance both my business and family life.

Thank you for your continued support ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿ’›

๐Ÿพ Not Every Dog Loves Being Groomed โ€“ And That's Okay! ๐Ÿพ

One of the biggest misconceptions about dog grooming is that every dog should enjoy the experience. The reality is that, just like people, dogs have different personalities, preferences, and comfort levels.

Some dogs absolutely love their pamper sessions, while others find certain parts of grooming stressful, unfamiliar, or simply not enjoyable. This doesn't mean they're "bad" dogs, and it doesn't mean anything is wrong.

The goal isn't always for a dog to love grooming โ€“ sometimes the goal is for them to learn that grooming is safe, predictable, and something they can accept and tolerate without fear. Through patience, consistency, positive experiences, and regular appointments, many dogs become much more comfortable with the grooming process over time.

As groomers, we work with each dog as an individual, respecting their limits while helping them build confidence. For some dogs, progress looks like happily jumping onto the grooming table. For others, progress is simply standing calmly for a brush or allowing their feet to be handled.

Every small step is worth celebrating. โค๏ธ

Remember: a dog doesn't have to enjoy every moment of grooming to benefit from it. Good grooming is an important part of their health, comfort, and wellbeing, and learning to tolerate it is a huge achievement for many dogs.

๐Ÿถ Be kind to your dog, be patient with their journey, and celebrate the progress they make along the way.

๐Ÿšจ Devonshire Road by Tally Ho to Close for Up to Three Weeks for Electricity Works - Travel chaos with Ainsle Street also closed?

Motorists are being advised to plan ahead, as part of Devonshire Road, Barrow, will be closed for up to three weeks while Electricity North West carries out essential utility works.

The temporary road closure will be in place from Monday 3 August until Sunday 23 August 2026.

The affected section is on Devonshire Road, from its junction with the U6150, extending in a south-westerly direction for approximately 65 metres.

A signed diversion route will be in place via the unrestricted sections of Devonshire Road, Walney Road (A590), U6304, Park Road, Schneider Road and the U6150.

Residents and visitors should also be aware that pedestrian access and access for dismounted cyclists will not be maintained through the works area, so alternative routes may be required.

Emergency service access will be maintained where necessary throughout the duration of the works.

Anyone with questions about the temporary road closure can contact the Westmorland & Furness Council Highways Hotline on 0300 373 3306, quoting reference TTROW/18510.

Please allow extra time for your journey if travelling through the area during the works.

๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿถ One Year of Soggy Doggies Grooming! ๐Ÿถ๐ŸŽ‰

Today marks one whole year since I opened the doors to Soggy Doggies Grooming, and I just wanted to take a moment to say a huge thank you to every single one of my wonderful customers.

Whether you've been with me from the very beginning or have only recently joined the Soggy Doggies family, your trust, support, recommendations, kind words, and loyalty have meant the world to me. Seeing your dogs come through the door, watching them leave happy, comfortable, and looking their best is the reason I love what I do.

Running a small, self-employed business has had its challenges, but thanks to your continued support, I've been able to do what I love every day. Every appointment booked, every recommendation shared, every review left, and every wagging tail has helped my little business grow.

I'm so grateful to have built such amazing relationships with both you and your four-legged family members. Thank you for trusting me with your beloved dogsโ€”it's truly a privilege.

Here's to another year of pamper days, muddy paws, wagging tails, cuddles, and making your pups look and feel fantastic! โค๏ธ๐Ÿพ

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for making my first year so special. I can't wait to see what the next year brings!

With love,

Vikki

โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿถ Important Notice Regarding Grooming Appointments ๐Ÿถโ˜€๏ธ

With the high temperatures forecast over the next few days, I may need to cancel or rearrange some grooming appointments if the temperature inside the grooming hut becomes too hot.

The welfare of the dogs in my care will always come first. Grooming can be physically demanding, and using dryers, standing for long periods, and being in a hot environment can put dogs at risk of heat stress or heatstroke. Even with fans and plenty of water available, there comes a point where it simply isn't safe.

I know cancelled appointments can be frustrating, especially as I know many of you plan your schedules around them. If I do need to amend or postpone your appointment, it will be because I genuinely believe it is the safest option for your dog's wellbeing.

Amended or rearranged appointments could look like:

๐Ÿถ Dogs may be slightly damp and their finish may not be as polished.

โฐ Afternoon appointments could be changed to 7:30am if available when it is cooler or moving to a different a day, usually a day off so I can fit everyone back inโค๏ธ

If your appointment is affected, I will contact you as soon as possible to rearrange for the next suitable date.

Thank you for your understanding, patience, and continued support. Keeping your dogs safe will always be my highest priority. โค๏ธ๐Ÿพ
