Look at that droopy, sleepy lip 😴(Side note, why do horses always lay in the dirtiest part of their stable 🤦🏻‍♀️)

Milo made me smile today 😁

I gave him a groom this morning which he thoroughly enjoyed.

Unfortunately I didn't get much on film but I did manage to catch this moment 🥺

Oh hello spotty 👋🏻😂

Milos handling journey: PART TWO

(His stable stains are awful, I cannot wait to get a brush to him and give him a good scrub!! He does have a clean bed of shavings every night but, alas, this boy loves to lay in his own poo 😂)

This is the first time Milos let me touch him anywhere, other than his face (see part one).

He really did take to it like a champ. Watch until the end to see just how far he came in an under 10 minutes session.

An update on Milos handling journey.

This morning I began this session with the goal of being able to touch his nose. As you can see, he was an absolute star and accepted me touching his face fairly quickly. I really didn't expect that!

Note the licking and chewing in the second clip. Licking and chewing is a really important sign to look out for when you're handling youngsters, or to be honest, in any day to day handling of horses. It's a subtle tell that the horse is thinking and processing, usually in situations they find quite stressful. It is also usually a sign of them releasing tension and relaxing.

You'll notice that I completely stop and give him space whilst he's licking and chewing. I believe it's a really important step during the handling process. I don't want to interrupt his thought processes and potentially stop the release of tension that is clearly happening.

We all need time to process stressful situations and horses are no different.

Good job Milo ✨

He loves carrots.. bananas... He's a real foodie haha 🤣

Milo has some very unique markings! His 'patches' of palomino are more like splashes. Yearling c**t to make 15hh.
