🌡️ **Infrared Imaging Visit Next Weekend!** 🌡️

I know some people think thermography is a bit dubious, but personally I genuinely think it helped saved my old Grade A showjumper’s career. He’d been a very successful SJ, winning the Hickstead Novice Derby at 5, but by 8 he’d started stopping at fences, refusing flying changes, and just behaving strangely - yet he wasn’t obviously lame. None of the local vets could pinpoint the issue, and eventually, he was turned away for a break.
A few months later, he became quite lame and unbalanced, unable to trot a circle properly. He was referred to Avonvale Vets, who started with infrared thermography. The scans showed several dark areas indicating muscle atrophy, which led to the discovery of spinal damage. X-rays later revealed whiplash in his atlas and axis.
That insight allowed us to get the right treatment in place, and after a lot of therapy and rehab, he was back winning again, and as some of you will know he won quite prolifically into his late 20’s.
So if you have a horse and you don’t quite like what’s wrong, this is worth doing. 💪🐴
