Reactivity ≠ Aggression.

A reactive dog isn’t trying to be “bad” or pick a fight, they’re feeling stressed 😥, overwhelmed, or scared.

❌Aggression involves intent to harm.
✔️Reactivity is a cry for space, support, and safety.

Common triggers? Other dogs 🐕‍🦺, people ⛹️‍♀️, bikes 🚴‍♀️, cats 🐱, sudden noises 💥, you name it.

The good news? We can change emotional responses. With positive reinforcement and gradual exposure, we help dogs feel calmer and safer around their triggers.

💡 Small steps = big progress.
Let’s change the narrative around reactivity. It’s not bad behaviour. it’s communication.

Waldo is looking for a retirement foster home 🐾

Waldo arrived at Raystede in January and has so far been in our care for 184 days. He has seen so many of his fellow rescue friends find forever homes and sadly no suitable adoption applications have come in for him.

Despite this, Waldo hasn’t given up hope. He is a gentle soul, is playful and affectionate and loves a good chat with his favourite people. He enjoys walks and adventures, as long as they are kind to his joints!

Could you offer Waldo the peace and comfort of a retirement foster home while he waits for his forever family? Ideally, he would prefer:
• An adult-only home or home with older teenagers.
• To be the only pet in a home with a flat garden to protect his joints.

Raystede provides all food, care, equipment, veterinary care, training, and ongoing support. If you could help gorgeous Waldo, we would love to hear from you. Please call 01825 880468 or find out more: www.raystede.org/adopt/foster-an-animal/

Or, if you think you could finally be the one to give Waldo his forever home, please read more about him: www.raystede.org/adopt/dogs/?animal=24466

There are lots of tourist attractions out there which exploit animals and cause suffering, like cuddling sedated big cats or riding captured elephants! 🐘

It’s worth taking a moment to think about the places we choose to visit, and the impact those choices might have on animals around the world.

This summer, let kindness guide your adventures. Find out which tourist attractions are harmful and how to make the right decisions while on holiday: https://bit.ly/4o77wbP

🐶 Do you have a home for this loving boy? 🐶

Marshall is a super switched on little terrier who hasn't had the greatest start in life. 💔

This handsome chap can be wary around people who he doesn't know but when he is more comfortable in your presence, he quickly relaxes and enjoys the company! 🥰

Marshall can find the world quite stressful due to his sheltered history but we know he will find that much needed confidence in a loving home. 💙

Marshall can get overwhelmed when around other dogs but is making big progress when seeing dogs at a distance. For this reason he would be better suited to an environment where he can walk in quieter areas. ❤️

He is a super affectionate, funny little terrier. He absolutely loves training and engaging with his handlers and enjoys sitting on your lap having cuddles, or playing with his toys. 🥺
