Please protect my paws! 🐾💙

The heatwave may be bliss for us humans but anything above 21°C can carry risk of heatstroke and burned paws for any furry family member.

As a responsible dog walker, I recommend these steps to ensure that your dog can have fun in the sun:

🐶 Place the back of your hand on the pavement for 7 seconds. If it starts to burn, it’s too hot for your dog.

🐶 Stick to grassy areas to avoid exposing paws to hot concrete.

🐶 Keep away from concrete between late morning and early evening (that’s when it’s at its hottest)

As a general rule, if it feels too hot, don’t risk it. A single day of without a walk will protect the paws (and give you more opportunity for snuggles 😉)

🐾 IMPORTANT UPDATE 🐾

Due to the high temperatures expected this week, I’ve made the decision that Joanna & Vinny’s Canine Crew will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday. ☀️🐶

The safety and wellbeing of our furry friends always comes first, and I don’t want any of our dogs out in the heat when temperatures are too high. ❤️

Instead, I will be open on Friday and will collect all of my usual dogs that day. 🐾🚐

Thank you so much for your understanding and continued support. I’d much rather make the safe decision for the dogs, even if it means changing our usual days. ❤️

Stay safe and keep those paws cool! 🐶☀️💦

🐾 Look how far Doris has come! ❤️

When Doris first came to Joanna and Vinny’s Canine Crew last November, she was just an eight-month-old Doberman pup. She was frightened of the other dogs and didn’t have the confidence to play. She was very timid, shy and unsure of herself.

Fast forward a few weeks, and Doris really started to come out of her shell. 🥹❤️

Now, look at her! She is so confident, loves her friends and absolutely LOVES to play. 🐶💗 She has come on so much, and it has been amazing to watch her confidence grow.

We are so proud of you, Doris! 🥰

Well done, beautiful girl. We love you! ❤️🐾
