German Shepherds/ Alsatians:

German shepherds are one of the oldest dog breeds and were originally bred for herding and guarding sheep in the late 1800’s in Germany. The German Shepherd was created through a breeding programme to mix the positive traits of a Thuringian shepherd and a Wurtemburg shepherd.
They were previously very similar to wolves through characteristics, and although have lost some similarities, they are one of the few dog breeds today that are closely related.
You can spot them in a variation of 5 colours including, black, sable, panda, saddle and white.

Islay is an amazing example of her breed and is extremely intelligent, obedient and loyal. She is a pleasure to look after on our walks, and as you can tell, loves a stick!
