🧼 Cleaning is one thing.
🦠 Disinfecting is another.

Do you do both properly in your groom room?

When did you last clean and disinfect:
• inside your vacuum and nozzle?
• the top of cupboards?
• the hair bin?
• the broom or brush you sweep up with?

Dangerous bacteria, fungi and viruses can hide in the places we forget about most — and infections can spread from dog to dog 🐾 and even dog to human.

Do you have a proper cleaning and disinfecting rota… and do you stick to it?

It’s boring. We’re all busy. But these jobs matter. Good salon hygiene protects you, your dogs and your clients 💛

Macaroni (“Mackie”) 🐾 — half Terrier, half Coyote 🐺 (yes, really!) — is a brilliant reminder that our dogs still carry instincts from their wild canine ancestors.

Mackie is sensitive, clever and absolutely hates his feet and nails being handled… so we respect that. 💛

Not every dog finds grooming natural or comfortable. Being lifted onto a table, restrained and handled can feel overwhelming for some dogs.

As groomers, our priority should always be trust, communication and comfort before cosmetic perfection ✂️✨

My first attempt at rosettes on Marsha ✂️🐩

A brilliant exercise for scissor skills and coat preparation — this only works if the coat is properly cleaned, hydrated, and dried correctly.

Every groomer should be able to try techniques like this, and I’ve still got lots to learn myself.

Current household feedback:
“Marsha looks like she’s had a Brazilian butt lift.” 😂
And David refuses to walk her through town looking like that…

Pebble's last groom was January, but the weather turned attrocious, so Annie stayed - fabulous evening in front of the fire, with Davids homemade soup watching The Traitors. 🍜
