As WBBA has now made my resignation public, I want to clarify my position directly and calmly.

I resigned from WBBA myself after losing trust in the organisation’s handling of disputes, member matters, public communication, and breeder restrictions concerning dogs bred by me.

I have already informed WBBA in writing that I do not consent to any further registrations, paperwork, litters, offspring, or descendant registrations connected to dogs bred by me being issued through WBBA without my written consent.

WBBA has replied that future applications connected to dogs already present in their database may still be assessed under WBBA rules. This is the matter I publicly questioned.

This is therefore not about buyers “expecting WBBA pedigrees” from me. I have clearly stated the opposite.

I also do not appreciate the misleading public framing surrounding this matter, nor the removal of comments and blocking of discussion after people questioned WBBA’s handling of the situation.

I will continue my work, breeding plans, and registrations outside WBBA.

No further public drama will come from my side. I simply wanted to correct the public narrative with factual information.

This is exactly what the Boerboel world needs more of.

Open events, real dogs, appraisals, shows, breeders, owners and organisations in the same place. Not closed circles, but a weekend where the breed itself is the focus.

I’m on the other side of the world, but I would have loved to be there for this one.

Huge respect to Boerboel Africa Breed Society and Boerboel Australia Inc. for making this happen. The first dedicated National Boerboel Show in Australia in 10 years is something worth supporting.

All organisations and Boerboel owners welcome. That is how it should be. ❤️

It feels strange to even write this after such a long break, but if everything went as planned, there may finally be puppies at Tuebor again in July.

The older I get in dogs, the more I realise how much patience breeding really teaches you. Sometimes things move forward exactly how you hoped, and sometimes years quietly pass while plans are still being built somewhere in the background.

A lot can change in two years. Dogs grow up, younger generations start showing who they are, future plans become clearer, and some ideas you once had end up changing completely along the way.

I think that is one of the reasons this feels exciting again.

Some future homes have already been waiting for quite a long time. Long before anything was confirmed, and honestly, that probably means more to me now than it did years ago.

Now we wait quietly and see what nature decided for us this time.

There are moments in breeding when everything feels uncertain.

You question your plans, your decisions, sometimes even yourself. A litter does not turn out the way you hoped. A dog you believed in develops something unexpected. People judge combinations without understanding the years of thought behind them. And some losses stay with you far longer than anyone outside dogs will ever understand.

What many people see is the finished result. The adult dog. The ribbons. The photos. The pedigrees.

What they do not see are the years behind it.

The studying. The second-guessing. The waiting. The endless conversations with other breeders. The difficult choices between keeping type, health, temperament, working ability, longevity and genetic diversity balanced at the same time.

Breeding teaches humility very quickly. Dogs do not care about ego, trends or social media opinions. In the end, the dogs will always show you the truth about your program.
Some years move forward easily. Other years feel like you are rebuilding everything from the ground up again. Both are part of it.

I think the people who stay in breeding for decades are not necessarily the loudest ones. They are the ones stubborn enough to continue learning, continue adapting, and continue caring about the breed even when things become difficult.

Because preserving a breed was never supposed to be easy work.

“This is my dog.”

Something you hear a lot around here.

Not because the dogs actually belong to the children, but because they grow up together and build their own kind of bond over the years. Somewhere along the way the dog becomes part best friend, part shadow and part safe place.

A good Boerboel usually understands children naturally. They know when to slow down, when to be careful and when they can just quietly stay next to them. No drama, no constant correcting, just a steady dog with the right kind of head.

And honestly, the best moments are rarely the big ones anyway. It’s things like this. A child sitting outside with their dog, talking to them about absolutely nothing while the dog lays there listening like it’s the most important conversation in the world.

That side of the breed will probably always be my favourite.

There’s something about a child growing up with a dog like this.

It’s not built in a day, and it’s not something you teach. It just comes from sharing the same life. Same yard, same routines, same everyday moments that don’t look like anything special from the outside.

Over time the dog learns to read the child. Slows down when needed, watches more than reacts, stays close without being asked. And the child learns just as much. Respect, confidence, how to be around a strong dog without making it a big deal.

That kind of bond doesn’t come from training sessions or commands. It comes from time.

This is the side of the Boerboel I value the most.

Savanna Boerboele Ariel
11 years 8 months

Arie has never been the easy kind.

Strong territorial instinct, very aware of everything around him, and always very clear about what he thinks. Never overly aggressive, just correct in how he is.

I love him very much, and I love his temperament even more. It’s something that’s getting very rare in the breed.

At this age things are slower, but nothing important has changed.

Still the same dog.

Today marks seven years since we lost Shaina, the grandmother of our R-litter’s dam.

She was a special female who left her mark not only in our hearts, but also in the generations that followed.
Time may pass, but dogs like her are never forgotten.

She is still missed deeply, and we are thankful to see so many reminders of Shaina living on through her descendants.

JAlenilta vaihtoehdot mm. Alumax-, AustriAlpin- ja Due Emme -lukoilla.

Hyvä panta on sellainen, joka toimii joka päivä.
Kiitos Jaana ❤️
