NSRS is a nonprofit charity organization that focuses on saving animals. Dogs is the main priority and we save dogs from euthanasia centers, lonely stray dogs and dogs that get delivered to us by people that can’t take care of it anymore. The volunteers do not receive any payment for their work for this organization. It is a dedicated group of people that put’s their hearts into saving many of the homeless dogs of Spain. Most of them has already adopted one or several dogs themselves, and thereby also have a lot of personal experience with the process and also the magic around being able to change a weak animal’s life forever! The dogs we get in for adoption are kept in a kennel in the south of Spain. Here they are not put in cages, but they are divided out of size and personality into big fenced areas. All the dogs get very well care and several checkups by a veterinary both before they come in to the kennel and before they travel to their new homes. Our biggest wish is that all the dogs, no matter what condition they arrive in, get the best care and treatment possible for them to be in good shape before an adoption finds place. The organization runs without any funds from the government. All operations are based on voluntarily work, donations and sponsors. The adoption fee covers veterinary expenses, necessary documentation and the trip itself. Other funding’s get used for food, maintenance of the kennel, equipment and any additional veterinary expenses. We welcome everyone that wants to pay a visit, whether it is to pick up your own dog, or just to see the kennel. Many have already taken the trip down to visit us, and we hope and wish that more people will do the same to meet us and our lovely dogs! NSRS are constantly striving to keep up to date and follow all laws and regulations, both within Europe’s borders and by Mattilsynet here in Norway. We will continually post updated information.

Here we've got Bruno, a lovely 5 month old lad who's a right charmer. He's a playful thing (I mean, he's still a kitten!) and curious about everything right now. He's very friendly and is some hankering for his forever home.

He's also handsome as anything, so that definitely helps.

If you think you can provide a loving home for him, reach out and we'll talk you through the process. Let's find him a home!

A quick post today just to highlight a new resident of ours. The long haired cat (so new we don't even have a name for her) has just arrived with a little bit of an infected eye, but she's getting the help she needs. Plus, she's even got a friend in one of our other residents, so she's in good hands!

At the moment, she's not ready to travel, but let us know if you're interested in adopting as she'll be good to go in a couple of months.

Introducing Bogart - Man about town and NSRS resident for over a year.

This 2 year old old boy is looking for his forever home. He's our chillest resident by a long shot, and simply wants to hang out. The same aloofness that a a certain namesake actor had on screen. Perhaps ol' Humphrey Bogart is alive and well inside this Bogart!

If you think you can provide a loving forever home for any of our residents, reach out and one of our volunteers will guide you through the process.

A bittersweet moment for all as Omer leaves us to go to his forever home.

As you saw in our last post, he's been through a lot in a short amount of time, but we're so happy that someone has taken only this great natured and handsome boy.

Enjoy your new life in Barcelona. You'll always be the best boy!

If you think you can provide a loving forever home for any of our residents, reach out and one of our volunteers will guide you through the process.

🐱 OMER'S JOURNEY🐱
Here's a little story about one of our newer residents that's absolutely touched our hearts.

⚠️ Content warning: this post contains some distressing images from Omer’s rescue and recovery. Please be aware before scrolling.

On 20 June, we received a call about a kitten who had fallen from an abandoned house into the foundations of a building site, trapped behind fencing. The fire brigade couldn’t come, but two kind policemen, Enrique and José, opened the gate and went down to rescue him.

The next day at the vet, we learned that Omer’s right eye had burst due to feline herpesvirus - a terrible infection that often blinds or kills kittens living on the streets. He went through weeks of pain, medication, and treatment, but never gave up.

When he finally reached 2kg, he was strong enough for surgery to remove the damaged eye. Omer recovered beautifully!

Today, Omer is a happy, playful cat who loves cuddles, food, and the occasional gentle bite. Soon he’ll be travelling to Barcelona to join his forever family. It’s bittersweet to see him go, but he deserves a long and loved life.

Thanks to the compassion of those two policemen, Omer has a second chance. Despite what people say, cats on the street don't thrive, they require our help. His story is a reminder that every act of kindness matters.

Introducing Ginger the...eh....ginger cat, a loveable little lady that's 5 months old.

She's been with us for a few months now and is desperate to find her new forever home. And, yes, we know we're repeating ourselves when we say this, but she's got a playful nature and she's a wee gentle beast. Why are so many like this? Well, I guess it's because all our volunteers raise our tenants to be such good cats!

Did you know, that ginger cats are also meant to reduce stress. I mean, there's statistics to say that all cats do, but that includes ginger cats so we're saying it and there's nothing you can do!

As always, reach out if you think you can provide a loving home for any of our cats.

Hey hey hey, we're back!

Apologies for the radio silence - we’ve been away on holiday (which was absolutely lovely!) We visited a country with lots of stray cats, and although that has its own negative traits, it was amazing to see how the locals were helping out. We even got involved ourselves, visiting one of the colonies, donating to local rescues, and generally having a good time petting cats.

Now we're back home, it's time to get back to helping our lovely pals here in Spain, so here's a snapshot of some of our tenants. Swipe through to meet just a few of these beauties - you may just find your next best friend!

As always, if you believe you can provide a happy, loving home to one of our cats, reach out and we'll guide you through the process.

It's Dali! But this Dali won't be painting anything surreal for you - we're sorry!

Dali is 7 months old and, as you can see from the photos, came to us with a bit of an upset eye. She's all healed now and is looking for her forever home.

This cutie is ready to go, so if you're ready to open your door, reach out and one of our volunteers will guide you through the process.

Let's all say hello to gorgeous Misifu.

She's got the most beautiful coat we've ever seen. She's tricolour, and even though the white may not be the most prominent colour, it's the thing that makes her stick out!

At just a year old, Misifu has grown out of her kitten days but she's still a playful wee soul. Balance that with her gentle nature and you're on to a winner! She’s looking for a family to love her as much as she’ll love them.

If you think you can provide a loving home for Misifu, reach out and one of our volunteers will walk you through the process.

Today's success story is handsome Epi.

Epi was only with us for a few months before he was adopted. He's got such a stoic expression, but trust us, he's a happy boy!

If you think you can provide a loving home for any of our residents, reach out and one of our volunteers will walk you through the adoption process.
