I am importing a bloodhound puppy to Iceland on SUNDAY- the regulations and import rules are very strict and the procedure prior to import can be challenging to say the least. This is the second dog I import to Iceland in the last 12 months and I have been following other importers closely during this time. My previous video on HOW TO IMPORT A DOG TO ICELAND was a great success - now I want to stress the 10 MOST COMMON MISTAKES people are making when importing dogs to Iceland.

The import process is no joke - but life is full of funny moments. Instead of making a formal video lecture on this dry subject: "import rules" I asked the puppies Píla and Luna to join me.
Píla the bloodhound has given me some challenges during her stay - she is super clever, walks in and out as she pleases, steales stuff likes socks from the laundry and bananas & apples. She makes mess all the time and even assist my Doberman puppy Luna when she can´t reach for the things she wants. She´s a handful as you will see in this HILARIOUS compilation.

We made one wrong assumption in our process with the Bloodhound Píla and it set us back 30 days.
I made this video to help others from making these COMMON mistakes I hear people are doing. The importation process is expensive and one set back can make it even more costly - even force you to change travel plans.

My Doberman puppy Luna doesn´t know how to walk stairs properly and I think she´s afraid of heights, what can I do about it ?

I want to talk to you about teaching your puppy to walk up and down stairs, steps and ladders. Many of you might think that all dogs know how to walk stairs BUT YOU ARE WRONG THEY DON’T. Just like babies need to learn to walk safely through hindrance - puppies do to.

Dogs that arent used to walking up stairs dont necessarily do it right and they even might build up fright or insecurities about stairs if you don’t introduce it at early age. Remember my motto: Prevention is better than cure 👷‍♀️

This is an exercise I introduce to the puppy around week 12 as a game. I how ever have to take a few security measures 👷‍♀️ so he doesn’t hurt himself, get injured or get a bad experience. Walking stairs is a useful drill to make a stronger puppy and help him overcome being afraid of heights.

The reason WHY I find it important and want you to start it during early age is because it helps your puppy to use it’s hind legs, helps him to find balance, strengthens his back and legs, coordinate the use of all 4 legs and more importantly learns to listen to you and your way of communication.

Let me show you HOW I begin introducing stairs to my puppy LUNA, WHERE I begin and how the process evolves through time as she builds up better mobility skills.
