Foundation CANYA SOS Campo de Gibraltar, is a non-profit organization located in Andalucia, southern Spain. Our mission is to shelter, care for, and find new homes for unwanted and abandoned dogs across all eight municipalities of the Campo de Gibraltar region. Our journey began over a decade ago when, in 2010, a group of dedicated members of the Spanish stray dog’s community, became aware of the

distressing conditions at the local pound. Motivated to make a positive impact, they united forces to address the challenging situation faced by the dogs under the management of Zoo Sanitario (municipal pound). With the invaluable support of our numerous volunteers, we embarked on a mission to enhance the shelter's conditions. Over the course of the past decade, our collective efforts have resulted in numerous positive changes. Today, our commitment to the well-being of dogs remains unwavering. We continue to work tirelessly to provide a safe haven for these animals, relying on the support of our compassionate community and volunteers. Together, we strive to create a brighter future for every dog that finds refuge within our shelter.

¿De verdad es posible que Nuez siga esperando una familia? 🥺
Can it really be possible that Nuez is still waiting for a family? 🥺

🇪🇸Nuez tiene ahora unos 5 años y es simplemente un encanto. Este precioso Malinois disfruta muchísimo de salir a pasear, camina estupendamente con la correa y pasa tranquilamente junto a personas, otros perros e incluso gatos. ❤️

Le encantan los mimos y, en los días calurosos, disfruta muchísimo metiéndose en el agua y relajándose un ratito para refrescarse. 💦🐾

Nuez es dulce, cariñoso, tranquilo y un auténtico buen chico. No entendemos por qué nadie se ha enamorado todavía de él. 💔

Lo más triste es que, después de disfrutar de su paseo y de estos pequeños momentos de felicidad, tiene que volver a su pequeña jaula en una perrera completamente desbordada.

Nuez merece muchísimo más. Merece una familia responsable y cariñosa que le dé la vida que sabemos que puede disfrutar. 🏡❤️

Nuez is now around 5 years old and is simply wonderful. This gorgeous Malinois absolutely loves going for walks, walks beautifully on the lead and calmly passes people, other dogs and even cats. ❤️

He loves cuddles and, on hot days, he absolutely loves getting into the water and relaxing for a while to cool off. 💦🐾

Nuez is sweet, affectionate, calm and an absolute good boy. We really don’t understand why nobody has fallen in love with him yet. 💔

The saddest part is that after enjoying his walk and these little moments of happiness, he has to return to his tiny cage in an overcrowded pound.

Nuez deserves so much more. He deserves a responsible, loving family who will give him the life we know he can enjoy. 🏡❤️

DONOVAN ❤️🐾
🇪🇸A finales de agosto, Donovan volvió a ser elegido para vivir una pequeña aventura fuera de la perrera. Esta vez disfrutó de un paseo por Tarifa junto con otros amigos de cuatro patas de la perrera. 🐾🌊

No era su primera salida, pero Donovan sigue sorprendiéndonos. Una vez más, demostró lo bien que se adapta a diferentes situaciones, disfrutando de la experiencia y afrontándolo todo con mucha tranquilidad. ⭐

Donovan llegó a la perrera en agosto de 2025 en unas condiciones horribles. Ha pasado un año… y miradlo ahora. ❤️ ¡Qué cambio tan increíble y qué perro tan guapo se ha convertido!

Ahora tiene alrededor de 8 años y, después de todo este tiempo, realmente merece tener algo que pueda llamar suyo: una familia, un hogar y una vida lejos de la jaula.

Donovan ha demostrado que puede adaptarse, disfrutar y ser un compañero maravilloso. Solo necesita que alguien le dé la oportunidad que tanto merece. 🏡❤️

At the end of August, Donovan was once again chosen for a little adventure outside the pound. This time he enjoyed a walk around Tarifa together with some of his four-legged friends from the pound. 🐾🌊

It wasn’t his first outing, but Donovan continues to surprise us. Once again, he showed just how adaptable he is to different situations, enjoying the experience and taking everything in his stride. ⭐

Donovan arrived at the pound in August 2025 in absolutely terrible condition. A year has passed… and just look at him now. ❤️ What an incredible transformation, and what a stunning dog he has become!

He is now around 8 years old and, after everything he has been through and a whole year at the pound, he truly deserves something of his own: a family, a home and a life away from the cage.

Donovan has shown us that he can adapt, enjoy himself and be a wonderful companion. He just needs someone to give him the chance he so deserves. 🏡❤️

🇪🇸 🆘 ¡CASA DE ACOGIDA PARA AMADEUS DEL 5 AL 25 DE SEPTIEMBRE! 🆘

Amadeus es un dulce perrito de tres años que llegó a la perrera con el fémur roto. Ha sido operado y ahora se está recuperando muy bien en una casa de acogida. ❤️

Por desgracia, su casa de acogida actual solo puede tenerlo hasta el 5 de septiembre, y Amadeus viajará a Alemania el 25 de septiembre.

Estamos desesperados por encontrarle una casa de acogida durante estos 20 días para que no tenga que volver a la perrera mientras sigue recuperándose. 🙏

Necesita estar tranquilo y solo puede salir a dar paseos cortos con correa. Todavía no puede correr ni jugar, pero lo está haciendo fenomenal. Puede estar en una habitación separada y quedarse solo en casa sin ningún problema.

🙏 ¿Podrías darle un lugar seguro donde recuperarse durante solo 20 días?

🇬🇧 🆘 FOSTER HOME NEEDED FOR AMADEUS — 5–25 SEPTEMBER! 🆘

Amadeus is a sweet three-year-old boy who arrived at the pound with a broken femur. He has had surgery and is now recovering really well in a foster home. ❤️

Sadly, his current foster can only keep him until 5 September, and Amadeus is due to travel to Germany on 25 September.

We are desperately hoping to find him a foster home for these 20 days so he doesn’t have to return to the pound while he is still recovering. 🙏

He needs to take things calmly and can only go on short walks on the lead. He is not allowed to run or play yet, but he is doing amazingly well. He can stay in a separate room and can be left alone at home without any problems.

🙏 Could you give this lovely boy a safe place to recover for just 20 days?

¡Mirad a nuestra estrella Nai! 🥰
A finales de agosto, Nai fue elegido para participar en un paseo en grupo por las calles de Tarifa junto con muchos otros perros de la perrera, para ayudar a dar a conocer nuestra perrera y a nuestros maravillosos perros.

Y este dulce caballero de unos 9 años lo hizo absolutamente increíble. ❤️

Muchos perros, calles concurridas, personas, tráfico, niños que querían darle mimos… ¡Nai se tomó todo con muchísima tranquilidad! Caminó, disfrutó de la atención y demostró una vez más lo buen chico que es. ⭐🐾

Nai no debería pasar sus años dorados en una jaula. Se merece un hogar tranquilo y lleno de cariño donde pueda sentirse seguro, querido y disfrutar de la vida junto a su familia. 🏡❤️

At the end of August, Nai was chosen to join a group walk through the streets of Tarifa with lots of other dogs from the pound, helping to raise awareness of our pound and our wonderful dogs.

And this sweet gentleman, around 9 years old, did absolutely amazingly. ❤️

Lots of dogs, busy streets, people, traffic, children wanting to give him cuddles… Nai took it all in his stride! He walked, enjoyed all the attention and once again showed us what a very good boy he is. ⭐🐾

Nai should not be spending his senior years in a cage. He deserves a peaceful, loving home where he can feel safe, cherished and enjoy life alongside his family. 🏡❤️

Who will fall in love with our wonderful Nai? 🙏

CORNETTO 💔➡️❤️
🇪🇸Cornetto llegó a la perrera en agosto, extremadamente delgado y con varias heridas. Es desgarrador pensar en todo lo que este precioso Galgo ha tenido que pasar.

Afortunadamente, ahora está recibiendo los cuidados que necesita y nos alegra poder contar que también ha sido integrado con otros perros en la perrera. Se lleva bien tanto con machos como con hembras. 🐶❤️

Ahora solo necesita que alguien le dé la oportunidad que merece: un hogar responsable y lleno de cariño, donde reciba los cuidados adecuados y nunca vuelva a verse obligado a valerse por sí mismo.

Después de todo lo que ha pasado, Cornetto merece un futuro seguro y lleno de amor. 🙏❤️

🇬🇧Cornetto arrived at the pound in August, extremely thin and with wounds. It’s heartbreaking to think about what this gorgeous Greyhound has been through.

Thankfully, he is now receiving the care he needs, and we’re also happy to say that he has been successfully integrated with other dogs at the pound. He gets along well with both males and females. 🐶❤️

Now he just needs someone to give him the chance he deserves — a responsible, loving home where he will be properly cared for and never again left to fend for himself.

LUNA 💕 Solo tiene 8 meses y toda una vida por delante.
LUNA 💕 She’s only 8 months old and has her whole life ahead of her.

🇪🇸Luna llegó a la perrera en agosto de 2026, con tan solo unos 8 meses. Fue entregada por sus propietarios y, desde entonces, esta preciosa jovencita ha tenido que adaptarse a la vida en la perrera.

Luna es un verdadero placer para pasear. Camina muy bien con la correa y no parece molestarle encontrarse con otros perros. Se lleva bien tanto con machos como con hembras. 🐾

Le encanta explorar, revolcarse felizmente en la hierba alta y, por supuesto, hacer pequeñas pausas para recibir golosinas y muchos mimos. ❤️

Luna es una jovencita maravillosa, curiosa, juguetona y llena de vida. Con solo 8 meses, debería estar descubriendo el mundo y creciendo junto a una familia que la quiera, no pasando sus días en una jaula.

🙏 Luna merece una familia responsable que la acompañe mientras descubre el mundo y que nunca vuelva a abandonarla.

Luna arrived at the pound in August 2026, at just around 8 months old. She was handed in by her owners and has since had to adapt to life at the pound.

Luna is an absolute pleasure to walk. She walks really well on the lead and doesn’t seem bothered by passing other dogs. She gets along well with both males and females. 🐾

She loves exploring, happily rolling around in the tall grass and, of course, taking little breaks for treats and lots of cuddles. ❤️

Luna is a wonderful young girl — curious, playful and full of life. At just 8 months old, she should be discovering the world and growing up with a family who loves her, not spending her days in a cage.

🙏 Luna deserves a responsible family to help her discover the world and make sure she is never abandoned again.

💔 Aurora necesita nuestra ayuda — tenemos hasta el 5 de septiembre.
💔 Aurora needs our help — we have until 5 September.

🇪🇸Aurora llegó por primera vez a la perrera en diciembre de 2024, con tan solo dos meses. Pasó a una casa de acogida junto con su hermano/a y posteriormente fue adoptada. A los 11 meses, pasó a vivir con su familia actual.

Por desgracia, su familia ya no puede seguir teniéndola debido a los problemas entre Aurora y el otro perro de la casa.

También nos cuentan que Aurora ha progresado mucho gracias al trabajo con una adiestradora profesional. Es una perra muy cariñosa, le encantan los mimos y la atención, tiene una excelente llamada y responde muy bien a las indicaciones. ❤️

⏰ Solo tenemos hasta el 5 de septiembre para encontrarle un nuevo hogar o una casa de acogida. Si no encontramos una solución, tendrá que volver a la perrera.

Después de haber tenido un hogar durante la mayor parte de su vida, queremos hacer todo lo posible para evitar que eso ocurra.

🇬🇧Aurora first arrived at the pound in December 2024, just two months old. She went into foster care with her sibling and was later adopted. At 11 months old, she joined the family she is living with today.

Sadly, her family can no longer keep her because of ongoing problems between Aurora and their other dog.

They also tell us that Aurora has made great progress with professional training. She is a very affectionate dog who loves cuddles and attention, has excellent recall and responds very well to guidance. ❤️

⏰ We have only until 5 September to find Aurora a new home or foster home. If we cannot find a solution, she will have to return to the pound.

After having a home for most of her life, we desperately want to prevent that from happening.
