Breeding season is in full swing and Spirit look amazing as always🔥

This year we have found a great way to manage having a stallion, with NO stress!🌟 I’m actually very impressed by him - one day he live covered Romy & the next day Romy was in the barn for dentist - NOTHING, just totally cool & relaxed✔️ He is really turning into being the best stallion you could Dream of🙏💚

How do we manage not to stress our Stallion:

He is on the pasture during night, from 18-06, so 12 hours. During the day he rest, cuddle with us 🤭, live cover, collect, and/or train🐎
It’s the perfect combination for him🌟
Also, he live cover from a box that he only go, when he is going to cover. That way he doesn’t need to think aboot cover & mares, when he is in his own box😅✔️

Breeding season has official started, when is coming to handle Spirt during live cover of our own mares❤️

I’m so proud of us two horse girls 💪💘
We managed to find a really good system last year for live cover - without causing too much stress to Spirit and with limited danger for us & Spirit✔️

How💘

Spirit is put in the last box of our barn (not his own box), where he get a specific briddle on that we use only for cover. We wear helmets, gloves, a longe line and a small wip.
From the box he can look out and we can check if the mare is ready to cover💓
If the mare is ready - p*e + spread legs - we have the mare by the next stable door. I’m in that box to stay safe, and I bring the mare to look inside a bit.
Spirit come out of the box and jump within a few meters to cover the mare💘

All steps are done in less than 10 mins😅

🌸 Breeding Tip 🌸

When inseminating your mare with cooled semen, you can often increase your chances of success by injecting her to induce ovulation (around 36 hours) ❤️

🦄 The better you know your mare, the better your results! That’s why it’s so important to keep track of her cycles from year to year. Every detail matters.
I personally love keeping records to really understand each mare’s pattern with 📲

Some mares ovulate with a follicle size of 40+ mm, while others won’t ovulate until 60 mm. The “average” is around 50 mm, but remember… mares are individuals 💖

👉 Example:
Let’s say you don’t know your mare’s usual breeding pattern. Her follicle measures 42 mm, and the semen has already arrived. In this case, I would recommend inducing ovulation.
Why? Because if her follicle continues growing to, for example, 58 mm, there’s a risk the semen may no longer be viable by the time she ovulates naturally 😳

🧬 Cooled semen can survive in the mare for 48–72 hours, but the safest window is 24–48 hours ✔️

📈 A follicle during heat typically grows 2–4 mm per day.

There are also several important signs to watch for as ovulation approaches:
🔸 Behavior (a teaser stallion is very helpful)
🔸 Uterine edema
🔸 Follicle shape

💉 Frozen semen can also be used with ovulation induction ✔️
However, this should always be done by a specialized reproduction vet, as timing is extremely precise. A good vet will know exactly what to do 🙌

I have my Spirit (min skattemand as I call him in danish☺️) fully back, and I love everything about it!🌟
This summer rode Spirit for 5 month, while I was busy preparing my show mare Vido for the European Championship🥉

I want to give one last Big Thank You Anders - you came as send from the Universe. And as soon as I felt ready to get Spirit fully back - you were gone💫

Since october I have had Spirit all by myself, and I enjoy it a lot🙊 He is my all time favorit horse and very special for sure💚

Spirit is stronger & better than ever - which is a natural development of his education 🥰

I have big dreams for us in 2026 - and I’m sure we can do it together 🙏💫

We start the season with 2 smaller shows🤠
April, May & June is focus on breeding❤️
July I hope to go to German Paint (but it’s my sons B-day, so hope for a good showbill😇).
August we go for the European Championship🇪🇺
and end the year with the Swedish Championship🇸🇪

I can’t even begin to explain how much Spirit means to me🥹 He is truly my once in a lifetime horse!💚

First of all he is drop death gorgoues to look at🤩
But it’s his personality that takes my breath away💚
Spirit is truly the sweetest soul on earth, he is SO kind & loving in every way!

When you ride him, he has such a big TRY everytime! There is no bad days for sure and he always lift your mood to new highs💫
He always tries his best, he is a pleaser & want to do good! He is that kind of soul, where you can melt together as one🌟
