I was only 14 years old, when I started falling in love with this breed and consequently the competitions involving it. There was a instant fascination for this world and our first baby steps to success. This was when it all started ! Not long after, in January 2010 I decided to atend a Dog Show in Porto, a few minutes away from home, to socialize Attila and to learn more about the Dog Show World.
In the middle of all the fuss and stress that comes along with every show, when everyone was preparing their dogs or waiting patiently to enter the ring, a man came in my direction and asked me why I hadn't show Attila and if I was willing to sell him. He asked for a much higher price than what I had paid for him. I couldn't believe it. How was it possible for someone to look like that at a dog and want to buy him, from a 14 year old?? I thought to myself, how can this be. Wasn't he a German Shepherd just like the other ones? Intrigued with what happened, I held Attila's leash tightly so that no one could steal him from me. I answered the man shortly after, "No! Atilla is my dog, no money in the world will change that!". We continued chatting and I decided to enter Attila in some shows, thinking, well, let's just try it out and see how it goes. The man said, "you won't sell me the dog but at least take him to shows!". He asked me to do so and I did. During the next months I did my best to learn as much as possible, looking at pictures, watching videos, studying pedigrees and reading about the show world. I wanted to know everything. Looking at the best dogs in the world and thinking to myself, what a dream it would be to get there someday. Now, the story of the Kennel, why did we choose this name, it all comes down to one word, "ATTILA". Attila was really young when he died, he was only 6 years. He left me and I felt I had nothing. I decided to do this for him and everything he gave me during those 6 years of pure friendship and complicity, I decided to start breeding, continue with something he would want me to do, to follow my dreams. He never gave up, so I couldn't do it, I would never disappoint him. VON LEBENEWIG means to "Live Eternally", Attila will follow me for the rest of my life. All of the puppies born here will have a bit of that special dog, the dog that gave me everything. He which will never be forgotten. You are truly missed my boy...
This is a new beginning, a Dream !!
