✨ We embody the values of horsemanship - clear communication, mutual respect, patience, kindness and a deep commitment to the horses well-being. This extends to not only our horses, but also to our clients and our community.

✨We are a boutique barn. We focus on quality over quantity. That means we offer a high standard of care, communication, and training, meeting each horse and rider where they are at and developing a program specific to their needs and goals.

✨We offer peace of mind to our boarders. Our holistic approach to care and management includes daily wellness checks, safe turnout, large stalls, caliber feed and minerals, a high level of vigilance by both staff and owners, and above all consistent & clear communication.

✨ We are locally owned and operated and we exist within the heart of the community. We are a grass roots start up, modeling to our students hard work, grit, and what falling off and getting back on again truly mean. We connect our riders to the local culture and the language. Our classes are bilingual and we foster relationships between staff and riders. We are inclusive, and welcome anyone looking to form a relationship with horses.

✨ We are multi-disciplinary. Dressage or Eventing, Working Equitation or Rodeo - riders can choose to be on a competitive team, take weekly lessons, receive equine assisted therapy, or attend a camp. We teach to all levels - beginners receive a safe and solid foundation to build upon and experienced riders can level up through unique coaching that improves horse and rider communication.

✨ We teach life skills - assertive communication, leadership and self efficacy, discipline, hard work, and character building, self awareness, integrity, and authenticity, presence and consciousness, confidence and poise. As riders develop as an equestrians, they also take home life lessons from time in the saddle.

About last weekend! 😅

Finally getting around to posting about our Grand Opening Combined Training Schooling Show! ✨

The rain in the morning didn't stop riders from showing up, motivated and ready to put their best boot forward! I'm so proud of our RNE team that gave 💯 , on their horses and behind the scenes. What a way to end the season and motivate us for the future! Way to ride through the rain and enjoy the sunshine at the end of the day!

For all those who attended - the emotions were palpable. This project has been a long time coming and we have worked so hard to make it happen! We couldn't have done it without the support of some amazing individuals that supported us with words, time, in-kind donations, and financial backing. You all know who you are and words will never express our deepest gratitude. Love you all! 🫶🏽

Big shout out 🙌🏽 to for coming down, jumping on horses they've never ridden, and putting in some amazing tests! Not to mention their horsemanship and sportsmanship... 🔥... oh and their parents definitely deserve awards too! 🥇 Next year we will be giving a parent award because it doesn't go unnoticed what you all do for your kids 🙏!

We, Alonso Noguera (native Nosareño) and Jennifer Simmons, along with our daughter Emmalu, welcome you to Rio Nosara Ecuestre!

As a child, Alonso and his family sowed agriculture on this land. As a young adult entrepreneur, Alonso started a teak plantation on this land. The Pochote wood harvested to make our barn was planted by the Nogueras', in their backyard, when Alonso was 8 years old! Now a businessman, he co owns a construction company and supervised the build out of our barn. Alonso helps every day to make our dream a reality. The heart and soul of a Nosara native is infused in the essence of this space.

Jen grew up with horses from the time she was born and carried on that love for horses by pursuing a degree in Equine Science and Psychology, as well as an FEI Level 1 Coach certification. She believes that Dressage is the foundation for all disciplines of riding, allowing the horse to be the most athletic version of itself. From that base, riders can study the disciplines of Eventing, Working Equitation, Natural Horsemanship, and so much more. Likewise, Jen's passion for personal empowerment, leadership, and life skills development are evident in her coaching. All this, combined with an innate desire to create an inclusive, safe and supportive environment, in connection with the natural world and local community, make RNE a special place to be!

Rio Nosara Ecuestre is now accepting new boarders and riders! We offer various riding packages to meet each riders interests! Whether you want to ride once per week or join a competition team, we meet each rider, where they are at!
