Despite the summer break, the heat, and everything else, we kept going.
In just three days: Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday – we did 37 spay-neuters, along with many checkups and treatments. 🥰

Some animals came in ready for surgery, but our team always discovers health issues that required treatment or hospitalization instead. We adapt and act. 👌🏻

🎗️ 𝗜𝘁 𝗪𝗮𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗮 𝗕𝗶𝘁𝗲 — 𝗜𝘁 𝗪𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗧𝘂𝗺𝗼𝗿 😿💔

A kind man called us, asking for a box to help a stray cat he spotted in the street. He suspected a bite or an abscess on her back… but when he finally managed to catch her and bring her to us, we were shocked — it was no abscess. It looked like a tumor.

She was scared, aggressive, and in pain. We kept her at the clinic for a few days to calm down before surgery.

But after the operation, healing brought something more than just recovery.
She completely transformed — turning into the sweetest, most affectionate soul. 🐾💕

When her rescuer came to take her back to her area, he was beaming with happiness… and so was she.

This is the power of compassion — it saves lives and heals hearts.

في ناس بتحب حيواناتها جدًا… لكن ساعات بتصدق خرافات بتضرهم بدل ما تنفعهم.
تعالوا نصحح أشهر الخرافات عن تربية القطط والكلاب:

✅ "الكلبة لازم تخلف مرة قبل ما تتعقم"
الحقيقة: التعقيم قبل أول دورة أصلاً بيقلل جدًا احتمال الإصابة بسرطان الرحم والثدي
الكلاب والقطط مش محتاجين تجربة الأمومة علشان يكونوا "سعداء

✅ "الحيوان هيزيد في الوزن بعد التعقيم"
الحقيقة: الوزن بيعتمد على الأكل والحركة. التعقيم نفسه مش السبب، لكن محتاجين نظام غذائي ونشاط مناسب.

✅ "القطط لازم تاكل سمك ني"
الحقيقة: السمك الني ممكن ينقل طفيليات ونقص فيتامينات. الأكل المطبوخ أو دراي فود متوازن أفضل.

✅ "الكلب أو القطة لما تعيّط يبقى مدلع زيادة"
الحقيقة: ده ممكن يكون تعبير عن وجع، خوف، أو ملل. لازم نسمع ونشوف السبب مش نسكتهم بالعنف.

✅ "مش لازم تطعيم لو الحيوان في البيت"
الحقيقة: التطعيم مهم حتى للحيوانات اللي ما بتنزلش، علشان الفيروسات ممكن تدخل البيت على هدومنا أو جزمتنا.

✅ "القطط مش بتتعود على أصحابها"
الحقيقة: القطط بتتعلق جدًا بأصحابها وبتحب الروتين والأمان.

✅ "الكلب لازم يكون عدواني علشان يحمي البيت"
الحقيقة: التربية الطيبة بتعمل كلب واثق وهادي… العدوانية المفرطة خطر على الكل.

🐾 Care Myths

Many people love their pets deeply… but sometimes they believe myths that harm more than help.
Let’s correct some common pet care myths:

✅ "A female dog should have one litter before spaying"
Truth: Spaying before the first heat greatly lowers cancer risk.
Dogs and cats don’t need to be mothers to be “happy”.

✅ "Pets always get fat after spaying"
Truth: Weight depends on food and exercise. Spaying itself isn’t the cause.

✅ "Cats must eat raw fish"
Truth: Raw fish can carry parasites and lacks some vitamins. Cooked food or balanced dry food is healthier.

✅ "Crying pets are spoiled"
Truth: Crying can signal pain, fear, or boredom. We should check, not punish.

✅ "Indoor pets don’t need vaccines"
Truth: Viruses can come inside on shoes and clothes. Vaccines protect them.

✅ "Cats don’t bond with owners"
Truth: Cats form strong bonds and love routine and safety.

✅ "Dogs must be aggressive to guard"
Truth: Confident, well-trained dogs protect better. Too much aggression is risky for everyone.

These sweet 3-month-old kittens are currently staying near the city center and are in urgent need of forever families. They’ve all been vaccinated and are healthy, playful, and full of love to give!

📍 استجابةً لبلاغات المواطنين بشأن تواجد كلاب شاردة في منطقة عرابيا بجوار فندقي بيروت وكينج توت بالغردقة، نُفذت اليوم الأربعاء 30 يوليو 2025 حملة ميدانية من قبل لجنة تابعة لمديرية الطب البيطري، ممثلة في إدارة الصحة العامة للحيوان بقيادة د. شنوده وليم، وبالتعاون مع مستشفى سوست للحيوانات اليتيمة وفريق Kastrationsprojekt Hurghada.

✅ أسفرت الحملة عن الإمساك الإنساني بـ 7 كلاب، تم تعقيمها جراحيًا للحد من تكاثرها، وتطعيمها ضد مرض السعار، ضمن الجهود المستمرة لحماية الصحة العامة وتعزيز الرفق بالحيوان.

🔹 تأتي هذه الحملات ضمن خطة علمية وإنسانية متكاملة لمواجهة ظاهرة الكلاب الشاردة، وتوفير حلول بيئية واجتماعية مستدامة تحقّق التوازن بين الإنسان والحيوان.

📍 In response to citizen reports regarding free-roaming dogs in the Arabia area near Beirut Hotel and King Tut Hotel in Hurghada, a field operation was carried out today, Wednesday, July 30th, 2025.
The operation was led by the Animal Public Health Department of the Veterinary Directorate, under Dr. Shenouda William, in collaboration with SUST Orphan Animal Hospital and the Kastrationsprojekt Hurghada team.

✅ A total of 7 dogs were humanely caught, surgically sterilized to control their population, and vaccinated against rabies — as part of ongoing efforts to protect public health and promote animal welfare.

🔹 These efforts are part of a comprehensive, scientific, and humane plan to address the stray dog issue and provide sustainable environmental and social solutions that maintain balance between people and animals.

🐶👁✨ We received a dog with Cherry Eye — a condition where the gland of the third eyelid pops out and appears as a red swelling at the corner of the eye.

At first, we gently try to put the gland back into place manually — and in this case, it worked. But if it keeps popping out, the next step is surgery — not to remove the gland❌, but to fix it back surgically with common technique called ( Morgan pocket technique ) into its normal position.

Why don’t we remove it?
Because this small gland produces about 50% of the eye’s tears. Removing it often leads to (Keratoconjunctivitis sicca, KCS) — a dry eye,painful, lifelong condition that makes the animal dependent on artificial lubrication, Otherwise the animal will suffer from corneal ulcer and more dangerous consequences! 💔

🩻🐱✨ This cat suffered from hip luxation — when the head of the femur pops out of the hip socket, usually after trauma. In many stray or outdoor cats, it happens after a fall or a car accident.

To help her walk again without pain, we performed a femoral head osteotomy (FHO). In this surgery, we carefully remove the damaged femoral head — the “ball” part of the joint.
At first, it sounds strange: taking out a piece of bone!🤔
But this allows a new, false joint to form from muscle and scar tissue. Over time, with care and movement, the cat learns to walk, jump, and even run again — often with barely any sign of the injury.

The X‑rays show the story: before and after. And behind them, the quiet miracle of healing. ❤️🌿

بس تعالوا نفكر بهدوء: هل المخاوف دي حقيقية ولا مبالغ فيها؟

✅ "بيكون شكلهم مرعب زي الشياطين!"
ده غالبًا بيكون بسبب التعب، الجوع، أو المرض اللي مخلي منظرهم صعب: شعر منفوش، عيون حمرا، أو مشية غريبة.
لكنهم في الحقيقة أرواح ضعيفة بتعاني… ومحتاجين شفقة مش خوف.

✅ "ممكن يكونوا مسعورين!"
السعار مرض خطير فعلًا، لكنه نادر في مناطق كتير جدا. والحل مش قتلهم… الحل التطعيم والمتابعة.

✅ "هيعضوني!"
الحيوان غالبًا بيعض لما يخاف. معاملة هادية ولطيفة بتقلل الخطر جدًا.

✅ "بتسبب عقم للبني آدم!"
مفيش دليل علمي مباشر. الأمراض اللي ممكن تيجي منهم غالبًا بسبب إهمال نظافة أو أكل لحوم نية.

✅ "غدارين ومش مأمونين!"
الخوف أو الجروح بتخلي الحيوان عدواني. لكن الحيوان اللي يحس أمان بيتغير تمامًا.

✅ "وجودهم خطر على الصحة العامة!
غير صحيح وجودهم جدا للتوازن البيئي اللي مش بنحس بقيمته في وجودهم لكن لما يختفوا او نتخلص منهم ، لما نهتم بيهم ونطعمهم ونخصيهم بيبقوا أقل خطرًا وأنظف

✅ "هيزيدوا لو أكلناهم!"
العدد بيزيد بسبب التكاثر، مش الأكل. التعقيم مع الأكل يقلل العدد وسلوكهم العدواني.

✅ "بينقلوا أمراض للأطفال!"
الخطر موجود لكنه بيتقلل جدًا بالنظافة الشخصية والتطعيم.

✅ "بيوسخوا الشوارع!"
الأساس في التنظيم والنظافة. الحيوان المتعقم بيكون أهدى وأقل فوضى.

✅ "مش فارقة معاهم الرحمة!"
بالعكس… الحيوان حتى لو ضال بيفهم الرحمة وبيهدى جدًا لما يلاقي تعامل كويس.

الخوف طبيعي… لكن الرحمة والوعي هما اللي بيغيروا الحقيقة.

🐾 Fear Isn’t Fact

It’s normal to feel afraid of stray animals.
But let’s look closer — are these fears real?

✅ "They look like demons!"
Often it’s just illness, hunger, or wounds: messy fur, red eyes, limping.
They’re suffering souls — not evil beings.

✅ "They might be rabid!"
Rabies is serious, but rare. Vaccination and care are the answer, not killing.

✅ "They could bite!"
Most animals bite only if afraid or hurt. Calm kindness helps prevent that.

✅ "They cause human infertility!"
No direct scientific proof. Some diseases can spread, but mainly through poor hygiene or raw meat.

✅ "They’re unpredictable!"
Fear or pain often makes them aggressive. Feeling safe changes them.

✅ "They’re a public health risk!"
It is not true that their presence is very important to the ecological balance, which we do not feel its value when they are present, but when they disappear or we get rid of them — but neutering and vaccines greatly reduce risk.

✅ "Feeding them makes them multiply!"
Population growth comes from breeding, not feeding. Neutering plus care keeps numbers low.

✅ "They spread diseases to kids!"
Risk exists, but proper hygiene and vaccination control it.

✅ "They dirty the streets!"
Calmer, neutered animals are cleaner. The bigger issue is organized care.

✅ "Kindness won’t change them!"
Even strays feel and respond to compassion.

Fear is normal — but awareness and kindness change reality.

🐱💔✨ He came with urine retention and severe pain near the tail. After shaving, we uncovered a deep, infected abscess.
We placed a catheter and used a special technique called tie bandage to help him heal.
