𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐲 𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 – 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐃𝐚𝐲

Today was a big day for our sweet boy Marty — and he came through like a little trooper. 🩺🐱💪

Marty underwent 𝐧𝐞𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐲, had 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐮𝐥, 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐞𝐲𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝 and also had 𝐬𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐡 𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝— all necessary steps to give him the comfort and quality of life he so deserves. 🦷❤️👁️

While he might look a little rough around the edges right now, rest assured he’s receiving 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 and is being closely monitored. He’s currently sporting the cone of shame to help protect his surgical site — and so far, he’s being a champ about it!

We’ve got him all set up in a 𝐜𝐨𝐳𝐲, 𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐫𝐚-𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞 𝐤𝐞𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐥 where he can rest, recover, and be pampered over the next several days. 𝐇𝐢𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐥𝐞𝐭 𝐮𝐬 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐱𝐢𝐧𝐠 — 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐬.🥹🍞 That’s our boy! His next recheck is scheduled for 𝐓𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲, where we’ll assess how he’s healing and check in on his glucose levels.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has followed Marty’s journey, donated toward his care, and sent him love. 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 💗🙌. He’s not quite out of the woods yet, but today was a 𝐡𝐮𝐠𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝.

𝐒𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐖𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠… 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐁𝐞𝐧 💙

Posted once. Seen by many. But not a single application.

It’s been over a month since we introduced 𝐁𝐞𝐧— a gentle, 10-year-old boy with a big heart and a quiet charm. And yet… not one inquiry. We’re not sure why, because this handsome boy is truly something special.

𝐁𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐚 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐧. He does enjoy being around his person and will often choose to be nearby, calmly observing the world around him. He’s got an independent spirit, but also a soft side that shines once he’s comfortable. With his steady presence, observant nature, and affectionate streak, he’s the kind of cat who brings quiet comfort to a home — the perfect mix of companionship and independence.

healed beautifully

Ben has experienced a lot of change and instability in his past, but he’s remained gentle and resilient through it all. If anyone deserves the love and security of a forever home, it’s him.

He would do best in a 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐦, 𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐞𝐭 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝 without young children — a peaceful space where he can settle in and truly thrive. Our beloved boy Marty is heading in for his big surgery tomorrow. Here he is, relaxing in his nice comfy bed. 🛏️🐾

🚨 𝐅𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃 𝐂𝐀𝐓 – 𝐅𝐀𝐋𝐌𝐎𝐔𝐓𝐇 🚨
𝐍𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐝 / 𝐅𝐚𝐥𝐦𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐲𝐤𝐞 𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐝

A kind individual came across this kitty on the side of the road in a ditch area along Falmouth D**e Road, heading toward Sangster Bridge Road. The cat was found somewhere near Hanson Road.

Thinking the kitty might be injured, the finder safely secured them in a carrier and brought them home for a few days before reaching out to us. The cat has 𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐟𝐭 𝐞𝐲𝐞, which appears more squinted than the right.

We believe this kitty is female, but we won’t know for certain until a vet visit, which is scheduled for tomorrow. She is definitely nervous, but not presenting as feral.

We know how heartbreaking it is to see a stray cat struggling outside. Whether you’ve been feeding one or recently spotted a cat you’re concerned about — 𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐮𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐩 𝐢𝐭.

We are a 𝐬𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐥, 𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐫-𝐫𝐮𝐧 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐞 with a shelter that can only house 𝟕 𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐚 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞. Right now, 𝐰𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥.

When people trap a cat without speaking to us first, it puts enormous pressure on our volunteers to scramble for space we simply don’t have.

Trapping a cat without a plan and then releasing it because there’s nowhere for it to go 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫 — and that cat loses its chance at help.

If you 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐩 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐚 𝐜𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐥𝐲 in a spare room or kennel while we coordinate the next steps — amazing. We love working with people like you.

But please, 🚫 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐩 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐬𝐤 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫. It’s not fair to the cat, and it’s not fair to our already overwhelmed team of volunteers.

𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐀𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 𝐢𝐧 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞

A couple of days ago, we welcomed a new feline friend into our care under compassionate circumstances. What we can share is that he is now safe and receiving the care he needs.

This sweet boy, named Chester, recently endured what appears to have been an animal attack. He was seen by our wonderful team at 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐀𝐧𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥, where he received much-needed medical attention. He had wounds on both cheeks — including a painful abscess on the right side — along with superficial injuries to both front paws. Chester also has a broken upper left canine. His abscess has been cleaned and treated, and he received an antibiotic injection and parasite treatment.

He also tested 𝐧𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 for FIV/FeLV and has since been neutered. 🩺🐾

Chester is now resting and recovering in our small shelter space, getting lots of love and care from our volunteers. 🐱💙

In the coming weeks, we’ll likely be looking for a foster home for Chester as he continues his healing journey. While he’s not currently available for adoption, we’ll be sure to share updates as he progresses.

𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐲 𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞!

Our sweet, scruffy survivor is continuing to move in the right direction! 𝐌𝐫. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐯𝐞𝐭 𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭— he’s gained weight, is looking stronger, and is clearly benefiting from being in a calm, caring home where he can finally rest and recover. 𝐏𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝! 🐾💙🐱

While his blood glucose levels are still a bit on the high side, there’s good news—𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐩 and he received another long-acting antibiotic injection today to help keep things moving in the right direction. 𝐏𝐚𝐰𝐬 𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝! 🐾

After a thorough discussion with our vet team today, the plan is officially in motion: 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤! He’ll be neutered, have his infected eye removed, and receive much-needed dental work to treat a painful mouth infection. 🦷👁️🐈‍⬛

These procedures are not only vital to Marty’s comfort, but they’re also expected to 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐬 by eliminating those ongoing sources of infection.

We know so many of you have fallen in love with this special boy, and we’re incredibly grateful for all the kind messages, check-ins, and support. 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐢𝐦 𝐨𝐧!

These little balls of fluff are full of energy and already keeping their foster on her toes with their playful antics 🐾🐱. Mama is understandably a little stressed with all the recent changes, but she’s already doing better today—and we’re confident she’ll settle in soon.
