šMEET LILOš
We thought we would share Liloās story to help raise awareness for the importance of fostering and adopting older dogs! If you are interested in adopting or fostering an older dog please reach out to your local shelter to help make a difference, just like Liloās family!šš¶
āHi - My name is Lilo and Iām a senior! Iāve lived a few different lives in my 12 years, some good, some not so good. A couple years ago my second family moved away, they were going to bring me with them but it didnāt work out. I was staying with some friends but they couldnāt take care of me long term so they helped me find a new home. It was a little scary because Iām older and had a hard time getting around, but Iām really nice and very smart so just had to meet the right people who would love me for me!Ā
After a couple months I met my new family - they saw my picture and had to meet me. After meeting them they knew I was meant to be a part of their family. I was a bit nervous at first, I didnāt know anything about them and I had never been to their house, they were really patient with me and gave me lots of comfy places to rest so I could start to feel safe and trust that they were nice people.
Now Iām really happy to be a part of their family! They take really good care of me and I have a new lease on life - I canāt stop wagging my tail! They keep telling me I deserve to be loved and spoiled in my golden years, that all older dogs like me deserve to love like this, and I agree!ā
