Come to Mama! Yeah baby! Happy sour dough makes happy bread! Time to punch it down, divide into four and let them rise again. Malt Bread is a Canadian thing, and I want to bring it back! Has to be toasted though! Has to! 💕😊🙏 🇨🇦

Happy Good Friday! Mama Bear had a hankering for good old fashioned Malt Bread, like Dempsters used to make, but with Mama’s very active sourdough starter and all natural ingredients, including Canadian malt extract! This massive ball of dough almost burnt out my stand mixer! It’s having its first rise now, then will be split into four loaves for the second rise. Can’t wait!

Another source dough sprouted lentil bread post! Made with fresh garlic, thyme and rosemary, topped with soft cheese and garlic chive sprouts! Breakfast of champions! Well, lunch! I have coffee and H20 for breakfast. Sometimes followed by wheatgrass juice or Mama Bear’s fresh kombucha tea! But this is today’s first solid food. Yum!

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: The Norfolk War Memorial Carillon Tower was dedicated on June 17th, 1925 to honour all Norfolk’s War heroes. The stone tower is 60 feet high and contains 23 bells. The heaviest bell is 1,568 lbs, the smallest is 60 lbs. The total bells’ weight is 8,561 pounds. There will be a special rededication ceremony held on Tuesday June 17, 2025 to celebrate the 100th anniversary to the day. Lest we forget. Simcoe, Norfolk County, Ontario Canada.
