One of the questions I get asked the most…
“When should I get my dog groomed?” 🐶✂️
The answer depends on your dog’s breed, coat type, and lifestyle, but here’s a general guide:
🐾 Every 4–6 weeks – Doodles, Poodles, Shih Tzus, Bichons, Maltese, Cockapoos, and other continuously growing coats.
🐾 Every 6–8 weeks – Dogs that need regular baths, tidy-ups, or light trims.
🐾 Every 8–12 weeks – Double-coated breeds like Golden Retrievers, Australian Shepherds, and Border Collies (along with regular brushing at home!).
🐾 Nail trims – Usually every 3–6 weeks, depending on how quickly they grow.
Keeping up with regular grooming helps prevent painful matting, keeps your pup comfortable, and makes each grooming appointment a much more positive experience. 💛
