Now, We Unlearn is a collection of prose & poetry. It is an expression of my journey from childhood into adulthood and all the experiences that shaped that journey. The major themes in ‘Now, We Unlearn’ include love, heartbreak, s*x, abuse, loss, religion, family dynamics, culture, feminism and healing.

Yesterday, I posted a picture of me “glowing from food” and got the likes/comments. Often times, I complain about social media promoting ‘fake happiness’ and this morning I realised that I am guilty of promoting ‘fake happiness’ myself.

That picture was taken after sobbing uncontrollably on the plane...after questioning my life and the decisions I’ve taken thus far...
—
I didn’t even want my picture taken, but my friend insisted on harassing me with pictures. I wasn’t happy and I certainly wasn’t glowing. That was just a somewhat decent picture of myself and I put a somewhat decent caption to match.

I hope we are all a little more authentic with ourselves and our social media postings this year❤️
